Leslie and John,
We had a great time at 1 Pelican! The house was perfect.
Thanks for accommodating us on short notice.
We had a wonderful experience at this rental. It was just like its description and was a great place for our whole family to be together. The house was perfect for our 6 adults and 2 children. Great location, close to town and easy access to hit the road for a trip to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christie and a trip to Port A. The Rockport beach was great, too. Lots of choices for places to eat and a great kitchen when we wanted to cook. The owners have been great to work with and gave us lots of info on places to go and eat and they were right about every one we used. Would definitely recommend this house to a friend.
We are a family of 3 with a four year old and thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The place was as described and the owners were responsive and helpful. The house backs to a canal which is a wonderful place to enjoy fishing with a four year old. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and comfortably sleeps 6 (3 grandparents joined us on this trip). The bay is walking distance from the house and there are areas for collecting shells and fishing. The Rockport beach is a short drive away and a nice place to build sand castles and enjoy the shallow waters (great for younger children). Overall, the house is a great place to stay and we would happily stay here again.
I've stayed at this property several times before over a period of years, and it has been consistently clean, comfortable, attractive, and in good repair. The owners are a pleasure to work with, honest, and conscientious about providing a good value to their guests.
The floor plan of this property is well-designed, with plenty of room and light all around. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are amply-sized. I love the second-story porch overlooking the canal for my morning coffee as well as evening glass of wine before dinner. The generously sized dock is brand new and there is a covered patio downstairs for those who want to be close to the water.
I've noticed that when I come down here to stay a few days, time slows down and the vacation seems to lengthen. Perhaps it's because it's a short drive to the grocery or a restaurant or the cute shopping district. Also, I like how safe and attractive the neighborhood is, and that I can go for a walk anytime. This property would be good for couples with or without children, as well as for girlfriend getaways.
We had one of the most relaxing weekends in a long time, staying at this place. What a wonderful property! The owners obviously care a lot about the property, its maintained very well, nicely appointed with all amenities (full kitchen, books, board games) and is very comfortable. The time we spent on the property's patio/deck overlooking the canal called for some very peaceful times and rejuvenated us. Rockport is a wonderful little town, with some great eats, and a beach where we took long walks enjoying the birds and jellyfish along the way.
To sum it up - wonderful property, beautiful small town. Go there! You will come back refreshed.
Lovely, quiet end of canal home, very comfortable. Owners are very helpful. Prompt in answering emails
and offer thorough information on house and the area. Beautiful neighborhood, pool available for use.
Very close to town and the beach. Jalisco Restaurant has a wonderful breakfast and is just down the
road as is the HEB grocery store. We enjoyed our stay very much, could not have asked for an easier,
more comfortable getaway. I would recommend this home to anyone ready to relax and enjoy the coast.
This was my second stay at this property and I recommend it heartily. The house and lawn are lovely, clean and well maintained. The air conditioning works great! I enjoyed sipping a morning cup of coffee on the large upstairs deck while watching the water, clouds, and sea birds. The neighborhood is very nice and good for breezy evening walks. We enjoyed shopping in downtown Rockport, and I think that the "Comforts of Home" was my favorite shop. For breakfasts out, Jalisco is the place to go. The owners of this house were helpful and pleasant. They obviously care about giving their renters a quality experience.
