Fabulous Location

Our family stayed here in January, 2009. There was myself, my husband, & our 2 teen daughters. The place was a bit small, but it met our needs and accommodated the 4 of us for a reasonable cost. It was very clean, & the location could not have been better. We were steps from the MTR & close to Sogo & Times Square. There was a convenience store across the street & many small restaurants along the street. There was a night market close by & Victoria Park a short walk away.
The lobby was lovely, the doormen friendly, & the elevators fast. The apartment was well-equipped. We appreciated the free broadband Internet.
The apartment was a bit cold in the evenings & early mornings. We prefer cool rooms for sleeping, but we did wish for robes when we were up. If you go in winter, bring robes and slippers.
Also, note that the "double" bed is smaller than what I would consider a true double bed. It was okay for us, but people who are tall and/or large might have trouble sharing a bed here. Also, there were no sheets provided for the futon; only a duvet & pillow were provided.
Check-in & check-out were easy, & Elina was most obliging in getting up very early on the first day of the New Year's holiday for us.
When we went over to Kowloon, where many of the hotels & vacation rentals are, we felt very glad that we were staying in Causeway Bay. It was much less touristy than Kowloon. We weren't constantly harrassed by hawkers like we were in Kowloon, & we really felt like we had a taste of being Hong Kong residents, rather than being surrounded by touristy stuff all day. Yet there was much to do & see where we were, too.
We felt that our little apartment was a haven to come home to after a busy, tiring day touring Hong Kong. We especially loved the windows & the granite window seats.
For dim sum, I recommend the Jade Garden at 1 Hysan Avenue (walking distance). We also often enjoyed the food available along our street. For shopping with teens, the nearby Island Beverly mall (acoss from Sogo) is an experience not to be missed. However, our favourite experience was a visit to the Chi Lin nunnery & Nan Lian gardens in Kowloon. Also, note that there's a tourism office right in the Causeway Bay MTR station, & you can get maps, info, and tickets to ride on the Duk Ling (a junk).
Note: if you don't have too much luggage, the apartment is easy to get to/from the airport via the MTR & the airport train. There's an MTR elevator right behind Sogo.
