Concierge service and Attractions: Guests have access to a local (Manuel Antonio) concierge service that checks guests in and out, and is available for locating, coordinating, and booking a host of activities and events, including canopy zip line tours, ATV tours, charter fishing, surf lessons, and many other vacation activities. There are also great restaurants and shops, from high class to small and casual. Some of our favorites are Agua Azul, Raphael's Terrazas, Mar Luna, Gran Escape and L'Angolo.
Wildlife: At Casa Maria, we share the jungle with a small troop of white-faced cappuccino monkeys (Titi monkeys), which are endangered, and a sloth, named Pablo lives in the tree behind the garage. They eat the mangos in the yard, but please don’t try to feed them, and remember that we are vacationing in their world. If you would like to feed some Titi monkeys, then we recommend the Mangrove Tours. Casa Maria is also home to several playful geckos, large lizards (in the trees), beautiful jungle birds, and several species of frogs – many poisonous – look for bright colors on their head. Just remember to be smart and respectful of all critters.
Views and Beaches: They’re everywhere! Manuel Antonio and Quepos have numerous beaches, most within walking distance of Casa Maria. Getting there is a beautiful, exciting walk (stay on the road!) through the jungle; coming back is an uphill hike, or a run if you enjoy that. The drive to natural beaches is about 5 minutes through the jungle, then pops out right on the beach! If you’re driving, you’ll want 4 wheel drive because there is no pavement anywhere near some of the best beaches. Views from the back of the house and the poolside of the house are primarily rainforest jungle valley that goes down to the ocean in the distance. You can see the coastline (going north toward Playa Hermosa) and beautiful mountain ranges in the distance.
