This lovely Chatham home enjoys a wonderful location on a private road in a family-oriented neighborhood. There is a large yard where the kids can play. The home is all on one level, with a living room, eat-in kitchen and dining for 6. The home has three bedrooms, two full baths with showers and even an outdoor shower. Open the sliding glass doors in the sunroom and walk out onto a charming patio that includes a gas barbecue with an outdoor dining table that seats 6. Take a short walk or ride your bike to our popular Cockle Cove beach right down the street. Enjoy the many activities that Chatham has to offer: upscale shops and restaurants, Friday night concerts, fresh fish from the Chatham fish pier and the C.C. Baseball League games. The famous ''Schoolhouse'' Ice Cream shop is within walking distance. Miniature golf, go-carts, bumper boats, scenic trails and whale watching are nearby. Come, enjoy and escape !!

A few words on Cockle Cove beach: Cockle Cove is situated between Ridgevale and Forest Street beach on the warm, calm waters of Nantucket Sound. Like its neighboring beaches this is a favorite for those with small children and makes a great launch for windsurfers and kayakers. The comfortably-sized beach parking lot lies at the end of Cockle Cove Road in South Chatham. This is a town-managed beach with a life guard on duty and bathroom facilities.

  • Weekend rental or partial weeks are OK during the months of September and October
  • A security deposit in the amount of $500 and a copy of your Driver's license is required with each weekly rental. Security deposits are less with shorter stays and weekend getaways. All security deposits are refunded* within 72 hours of rental end date. ( * = As long as no damage was done during the rental time. )

    50% deposit is due at lease signing. The balance, security, and cleaning fees are due 30 days before start of rental.

Wonderfuly family reunion!

Hi,
We just stayed at John's place. It was wonderful! The home was great for our mini family reunion. There were 6 adults (both sets of grandparents) my husband and I and our 1 year old son. The set up was great. The sunroom is very separate from the rest of the house, which was wonderful when my son got up early, no one else could hear us as we played. Only downside was it was a little dark inside.

Very nice walk to the beach (Ridgevale was awesome for our 1 year old!), though we did end up getting a weekly pass.

Everything was very neat and clean, and John was great about returning our calls and very helpful throughout the whole booking and rental process.

Thank you for a wonderful first cape cod experience!

Beautiful well kept home in a great location.

My family enjoyed our long weekend at the Cottage. Owners were wonderful to rent from. The cottage is very clean and well kept with every you need. The big thing for me was the beds - very comfortable. The cottage is in a great location close to everything, with a very nice beach right down the street. If you are looking for a place where your family can spread out and relax - this is the cottage for you!

Perfect Cape Cod House

I would not hesitate to recommend John & Denise's Chatham home to anyone looking for a perfect Cape get-away. In fact, I was still enjoying my stay at their home when I emailed John and asked to reserve a week there next summer along with an additional weekend!

The house is just as the pictures that are posted. It was immaculate, and neither too big nor too small and very well equipped. The backyard patio is wonderful in the evening whether reading, talking, grilling or enjoying the outdoor shower. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the location to beaches, downtown and sites is very convenient.

We enjoyed Cockle Cove beach and Hardings Beach. It's wonderful to get in the ocean and not freeze - these waters had to be at least 75 degrees due to being on the Sound.....and they were not crowded.

The town of Chatham is quaint, charming and offers an array of dining, shopping, and other activities. You may be as busy (or not) as you would like. Lunch at the Chatham Bar Inn on the veranda overlooking the Sound; an island excursion and watching the seals; visiting a lighthouse; walking through Main Street and admiring the homes and gardens or lazing on a beach and enjoying the water will not disappoint.

I am looking forward to next summer and homemade ice cream at the Schoolhouse Ice cream Shop at the end of Cockle Cove Road........in addition to the Chef's Carbonerra at the Chatham Squire restaurant in town!

Everything I wanted and more!

I was nervous about renting a house for a week without seeing it up close and personal. The photos don't do it justice. It was cozy and clean and had all I needed (ie. utensils, brochures for sightseeing, flat screen TV, DVD player, Bose Stereo system throughout house) and some I didn't need but thoroughly enjoyed like the outdoor shower with hot and cold water. It was in a very picturesque part of town and I was constantly taking snapshots. The beach was great (Cockle Cove beach).My family enjoyed walking to the pond nearby in the morning and taking in nature. The boutiques and restaurants in the Village were great, too . I did not want to go back home. My 7 year old said it was the best vacation ever and we have been to France and Disney World.We had lots of fun!

What an Escape !!!

I just came back from John's home. What a cozy and inviting home it is. The place was very clean and just as John described. A special thank you to John for adding the central A/C this year, we needed it. The outside shower was a nice treat too. John called to welcome us the day we arrived, and wanted to make sure everything was to our expectation. We had a true relaxing vacation. I love the area and the beach down the street. I must say that Chatham is great little town with all its shops and restaurants.

John, your house made our vacation. I look forward to returning to Cape Cod next year and you know I'm not staying anywhere else but you home. Let me know if you ever want to sell it.
