Conveniently located off Highway 49 in California's Gold Country, on a historic parcel known as Trabucco Gardens. During the Gold Rush days, Trabucco Gardens was a parcel of land cultivated as a vegetable garden. The historic rock walls on property mark the perimeter where the garden once grew. Now you can discover the vast riches our universe has to offer. Located on 17 private acres, we provide you with a grand opportunity to stargaze in privacy under dark skies. We provide quality telescopes as part of your rental. Views of galaxies and nebulae are yours to behold. And wildlife sighting are not uncommon here, too. The house, newly constructed in 2007, is well appointed and available year round. We provide housekeeping service (not daily maid service) before your stay. Complimentary towels, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, microwave popcorn, and guest soaps are provided. Go mining in the INFINITE FRONTIER at Trabucco Gardens-Gold Country's first stargazing retreat.

Trabucco Gardens is 10 Miles North of Mariposa, on Highway 49, about 1/2 mile South of Bear Valley. We are approximately 40 minutes away from the West entrance of Yosemite, which is accessed via Highway 140 in Mariposa. Trabucco Gardens is located in the Sierra foothills of Mariposa County. The area is very rural, there are no other dwellings visible from the house, and wildlife sightings can be seen quite frequently. There are many ghost towns in nearby communities such as Mount Bullion and Hornitos to explore, and Mariposa is home to museums and exhibits featuring Gold Rush history and nostalgia.

For solitude, go to Trabucco Gardens

We were fortunate to find Trabucco Gardens near Mariposa, California. Mike's cabin is located just off of a country road about 8 miles north of the town of Mariposa and a little over an hour from Yosemite Valley and the national park's Mariposa Grove of ancient redwood trees.
The cabin is very comfortable (it was built within the past year or so and has air conditioning for use during the hot days of summer) and well equipped for a party of 4 (more than that would be crowded). Being out in the country, Trabucco Gardens benefits from the remoteness that provides the perfect setting for star-gazers. Actually, Mike has a number of telescopes for use by visitors and even has one in a small observatory.
There is no question that we would rent Truabucco Gardens again when heading back up to the Yosemite area.

Loved our stay, awesome management/ owner responsiveness and care. Only regret was that we did not have enough time to enjoy the fascinating telescopes and observatory. Hichly recommended.

We loved our stay here. The home is beautiful - with modern everything! Clean, neat and had everything we needed (including peace & quiet). Was an easy drive to town and to the Yosemite Valley. Very easy to book as well.

Perfect Place

We stayed for three nights in May 2008 and were very pleased with the cabin. We found the property and amenities to be exactly as described. The owner was extremely helpful and informed us of everything including how to use the telescopes and observatory. The cabin was clean, neat, and comfortably appointed. The owner obviously cares that guests feel comfortable and welcome. There were a lot of nice touches like quality linens and a variety of snacks and drinks. The price was all inclusive unlike many others that we inquiried about. The location was secluded but very convenient to Yosemite where we spent most our time. Besides the cabin, we highly recommend Castillo’s Mexican Restaurant in Mariposa. Oakhurst offered a larger grocery store and more restaurants.
