Great Traveling Experience

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful experience in this pleasant, beautiful and warm vacation house. You have prepared so many great things such as the observatory telescope. My brother and I had a lot of fun learning and using it. It is a intelligent house with worry free and well equipment, and it is so convenient to the town for all kinds of supplies.

Definitely recommend Trabucco Gardens to our friends to stay when visit Yosemite National Park. We really enjoy our stay.

Great Stay Near Yosemite

  • 5 of 5
I spent this past weekend at Trabucco Gardens with my husband and in-laws and we had a fantastic stay. Communication with Mike, the owner, was easy and clear and the house was incredibly well appointed. Mike's attention to detail is obvious, as the house as everything you could need (and more) for a weekend away, including a welcome basket of snacks, tons of extra blankets and pillows, flashlights, binoculars. You name it, Trabucco Gardens had it. Plus the house is a short drive from Mariposa, which is a great place to go out to dinner, hit up the grocery store, etc. I highly recommend this property for your stay!

This was a terrific place to stay while visiting Yosemite and the area, highly recommend it, the owner has thought of everything to make our visit a pleasure. Of note was the clear instructions and information about the area including DVDs about the history and features of Yosemite.

Beautiful, Comfortable Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5
I stayed two nights at Trabucco Gardens with two Australian friends who were seeing Yosemite for the first time. We all loved the house and grounds. The little valley where the house is located is one of the most beautiful spots I've seen anywhere in California. We loved how natural everything on the property is. The house is very comfortable and we really appreciated how thoughtfully it was furnished with everything we might need for our stay.

Although it looks a bit further on the map, we ended up driving both to and from Yosemite via Oakhurst and through the Wawona entrance, which allowed us to see the redwoods and the spectacular view from the head of the valley, as well as to avoid the cliff’s edge roads at the other entrances. Oakhurst also offers a few more restaurant options than Mariposa.

Having stayed in Curry Village in the past, I was really pleased to find this clean, well-furnished home for about the same price as a small, unheated tent cabin at Yosemite. It felt like coming home after a long day of hiking and exploring the park. In all, a great place to stay in an area worth exploring.

Superb property

  • 5 of 5
We arrived at night and thought the lit house on the hill top belonged to someone else and were delighted when we found out it was ours! The lodge was gorgeous inside and a perfect get away. It was very clean and everything you could need was provided, there were even some snacks left in the fridge. Unfortunately our star gazing skills were not sufficient enough to get the observatory to work (even with the instruction manuals that are left there), but even by eye the sky is amazing at night.

Mariposa is a 10-15 drive away and has a supermarket (slightly hidden off the main street), petrol station and restaurants/take-aways to utilise.

We were using this as a base for our trip to Yosemite and it is about an hours drive to the national park entrance and about another 20 minutes to Yosemite Village in the valley, so you have to be prepared for the extended drive. However having seen how cramped some of the accommodation was in the Valley we were very glad to be going back to Trabucco Gardens.

We booked with the owners over the phone and were provided with lots of information by e-mail before we arrived. You can tell a lot of thought has been put into the rental of this property by Michael and it makes for an absolutely fantastic stay. We would definitely recommend this rental to others and were very sad to have to leave!

Trabucco Gardens is 10 Miles North of Mariposa, on Highway 49. We are approximately 45 minutes away from the west entrance of Yosemite, which is accessed via Highway 140 in Mariposa. Trabucco Gardens is located in the Sierra foothills of Mariposa County.

The area is very rural, there are no other dwellings visible from the house, and wildlife sightings can be seen quite frequently. There are many ghost towns in nearby communities such as Mount Bullion and Hornitos to explore, and Mariposa is home to museums and exhibits featuring Gold Rush history and nostalgia.
