Tillicum Lodge, a beach front, cedar home is on a private, wooded acre on the central Oregon coast. The 2400 sq ft (223 sq m) house sits on a low bank overlooking seven miles of wide, sandy beach which is easily reached by a short path right out the gate. The house is surrounded by a lovely garden and yard with sitting areas and a timeworn beach bench. It is decorated throughout with art and objects collected from around the world. The Pacific Ocean view is spectacular whether it’s a summer sunset or wild winter storms.
Other Amenities: -The house is equipped for fun with 3 stereo systems, 5 TVs with Dish programming, wireless high speed internet, books, games, videos, ping pong table and golf clubs.
- The loft has a 55' TV with hi definition programming and surround sound plus a great ocean view.
Tillicum Lodge is a beautiful place! The first time we came inside, we were surprised to see all the beautiful art pieces gathered with love and preciously arranged around the house. It was almost dark when we arrived. Next morning, the outside welcomed us. Each morning we enjoyed the view, birds hasting through the wind nearby the windows, birds resting and eating on the waves, an old man wandering alone without a dog and so on. There is a bunny in the garden around five in the afternoon. We had a wonderful week at the coast. Climbed Cape Perpetua, shopped in Florence, etc. We do not like to go, but at home we will remember summer 2010 in Tillicum Lodge! A place to love!!!
We had a wonderful stay at the house. Everything it promised and more. quick trip up and down the coast for exploring. close to kayaking, crabbing, fishing and hiking places. best of all, lay in bed and watch the waves. Great for families.

Families with Teenagers,
Families with Young Children,
We prefer rentals over hotels whenever possible when going on vacation, and I have to say that this was the most beautiful lodge ever.
Perfect location near Strawberry Hills where sea lions gather over nearby rocks, and many other amazing coastal landmarks and sights. The house has everything anyone will ever need for entertainment or cooking, there's even a ping-pong table in the garage with enough rackets for doubles. Not to mention the obvious fact that sunsets over the Pacific ocean are spectacular and can be seen from any room in the house.
Yachats, only a few miles away, is a charming coastal town we really enjoyed with lively restaurants and enchanting shops. We would highly recommend this house to any of our friends.
The pictures do not do this property justice. It was a wonderful place to be. The home was beautiful and well stocked. The owners were very helpful. The short walk to the beach through the tunnel of trees was a favorite of the 2 year old in the group. Spectacular. Even though there are other houses around, you just don't feel like it. The way the landscaping and the natural landscape are it feels like you are all alone. Very clean and very well maintained. Would recommend to anyone.

VRBO, from HomeAway
Families with Teenagers,
Families with Young Children,
I love this home! It was extremely clean and GORGEOUS! There are pretty much ocean views from every room. The acre provided fantastic privacy. Beverly Verna was extremely helpful and answered all of my silly questions. I will never forget my stay here, and will definitely be returning.
We enjoyed our stay at Tillicum House a great deal. The house is lovely, very comfortable, and has a large well-equipped kitchen. The property is right on the beach with huge windows overlooking the ocean. The owners have provided useful information about local sights and trails, and you are very close to everything. Cape Perpetua is simply gorgeous, and there are trails for all levels of hikers. We would definitely return!
This is an amazing home and the views are unprecedented. Located at the end of a drive and sitting right on the coast, it's incredibly private and provides everything one might need away from home.
We were here for my daughter's spring break and experienced five days of heavy winds and torrential downpours. However, watching these storms and the crashing waves from this beautiful home, in front of a warm fire created the perfect vacation for us all.
The home is not only architecturally amazing but decorated beautifully. Large windows face out toward the coast from all west facing rooms, deep and relaxing Jacuzzi tub in the master bath, comfortable and attractive bedding, full kitchen with many of the basics (coffee, filters, condiments, spice rack, sugar, etc.), stereo system throughout, fantastic entertainment system with DVD, Netflix, Pandora and Dish cable as well as Wi-Fi. There is a barbeque, outside seating, beach toys and additional clothing just in case you need an extra jacket or sweatshirt. Depiction of the home is more than accurate in advertising and the owner was great to work with.
While in Yachats...
CK Market in Yachats has a nice selection of organic foods, wines and everything you need. I would recommend getting fish at Luna's restaurant however. Owned by a fisherman, we were able to purchase crab, scallops, bay shrimp and ling cod. According to a woman I spoke to, Luna's is amazing for seafood dinners (eat in or take out).
Due to the economy, a lot of places have closed in Yachats but Newport offered some great activities and is only a short drive north. We visited the Newport Aquarium and the downtown area for shopping and site seeing.
The Drift Inn Pub is a great restaurant with live music on the weekends. http://www.the-drift-inn.com/menus.html
There is a great line of galleries, north of Yachats and South of the rental. Touchstone and Wave galleries are fun to visit.
We will be back for sure!

Owner's Response: Thanks Shelley, We're glad you had a good time and got to experience one of those fantastic Oregon coast storms. And thanks for the area tips!
Tillicum Lodge is located about 4 miles north of Yachats, 4 miles south of Waldport and 15 miles south of Newport in the middle of the Oregon Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. Yachats is a quaint little coastal town of about 400 people. The area is noted for its pounding surf, mature forests, fish filled lakes and both its uncrowded sandy beaches and its rocky shores. Nearby is the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the Hatfield Marine Science Center, Sea Lion Caves, Cape Perpetua (the highest point on the Oregon coast with fantastic panoramic views) , historic lighthouses, performing arts centers, galleries, antique stores, botanical gardens, and quaint shops.
-Two cozy main floor bedrooms each have a queen sized bed and share a bath. One has french doors to a deck and large windows featuring the ocean view.
- The second floor master suite has a king bed, desk and sitting area. French doors open to a private balcony. A wall of west facing windows lets you awaken to a stunning view of the Pacific surf. The suite has its own bath with Jacuzzi spa tub and walk-in shower. It also has a 44' hi definition TV.
-The loft has a full size futon bed and a single futon bed for extra sleeping space.
