Kahana Outrigger is located on the beautiful west shore of Maui in Kahana. There are sunny beaches and tropical scenery available to you at this fabulous location. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained with lush tropical vegetation for your enjoyment.

With only 16 units, it's very private and quiet. Both the beach and pool area are only steps away. Enjoy boogie boarding, swimming, paddle boarding, surfing and romantic sunset walks. Dining, shopping and golf within walking distance as well as short driving distance.

This large 3 bedroom 1,500 sq.ft. townhouse is very clean and welcoming. Our townhouse is fully equipped and offers many amenities that other rentals do not. Private lanai with views of the ocean, the islands of Lanai and Molokai, sunsets and rainbows.

About Lauren Kaufman

Although we're long time California residents, we consider Hawaii our second home. We took many wonderful family vacations to the Big Island as well as Maui. Now that I'm grown up, I manage this property on behalf of my family. I also own a pet care business in Los Angeles, CA and my father and brother own and run a prosthetic and orthotics business also located in the Southern California area.

Kahana Outrigger is right on the ocean with a beautiful view from every unit. Our unit is quiet and private which is what we look for when vacationing. This property is perfect, as it's only a short drive to Kapalua, Lahaina, and Kaanapali. Most other areas on the island can be reached within an hour.

What makes this townhome unique

This property is wonderful. Beautiful weather and water, serene and quiet with a gorgeous view of Molokai out in the distance. Lahaina, Kapalua and Kaanapali are all close by. Bedrooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen is big for those of us who like to cook and spread out while doing so!

Can't wait to come back!

We had the immense pleasure of spending a week at Kahana Outrigger and we could not be happier! Our unit 1A1, was beautifully decorated, clean and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. Spent every morning on the balcony eating breakfast enjoying the view. We were three couples staying there but it did not feel crowded at all. All rooms had A/C and its own bathroom.

The private beach is small and can only be enjoyed for 5 hours a day or so due to the water level rising so we'd hang out there for a a few hours, see a couple of giant see turtles (to our huge delight) and then we'd drive to a different beach every afternoon. There are many gorgeous beaches only 5-15 minutes away in each direction. If you don't want to drive to a beach, there is another beach to enjoy right next door. Seemed like a fairly good beach for kids as there werent really any waves to speak of.

We hardly ever heard our upstairs neighbors but everyone we met, including the outside maintenance person was very nice and friendly. This is not a party place, but if that's what you are looking for you can drive 10 minutes to Lahaina.

I would DEFINITELY recommend Kahana Outrigger to all my friends and family and I can't wait to return!

Awesome place to spend time with friends

I life on the Big Island of Hawaii and I booked this condo to spend some one on one time with some good friends. We had a wonderful time. We cooked all of our meals in the condo and enjoyed the pool, beach and each others company. My only complaint is that we did not get to stay long enough.

We are going to book again for 2015. I would recommend this condo to anyone with a family or a group of friends that just want to hang out together and not have to leave:)

Great place for a family

We rented this condo for a family vacation that included me, my husband and 2 boys, and also my parents. It was great that there were 3 separate bedrooms so we all could have our own space. The 3 bathrooms was also nice for the same reason. We found the condo in good shape with nice furniture and decor. All appliances worked well for us and the washer/dryer was a great added advantage. The beach access available at this complex was perfect for our kids (ages 6 & 3). Neither of our boys had ever really been to the ocean and the beach was clean with mellow surf. There was a bag of beach toys and boogie boards on the patio for use which was also great. The location of the condo was convenient to everything we wanted, with walking access to Maui Brewing Company and Dollie's Pub.

The one con was that we could hear all the activity going on upstairs. The guests above us were moving furniture at odd hours and were loud when they would come/go and my husband and I were staying right next to the front door and could hear it all. That being said, I would definitely stay at this condo again in the future.

Great Value

This condo was a great value. We had 3 couples in our party so this condo was ideal. It has 3 bedrooms each with its own bathroom. The beach is just across the lawn and the pool is right in the middle of everything making it easily to come and go. We all had a great time here! There was a maintenance issue that was reported and was unfortunately not taken care of during our stay. There was also some outdoor construction that was going on in the earlier morning hours that was loud (I do realize this needs to be done to maintain the property but a little later in the morning would have been nice). The beach out front is small which is nice because it is not as populated. Watching the whales from the beach was amazing and its just a short walk to the store and some places to eat. This condo is perfect for a larger party to stay since there is plenty of room. Thanks for the use of your condo we had a great time.

Great value!

The townhouse was great for the price paid. Plenty of space and a beautiful view. The pool and beach were steps away. When we had a maintenance issue, Lauren was on it and it was fixed. Is the unit super new and flawless? Nope. If you want that then you'll need to pay double or triple elsewhere. We loved Lauren's place as it was. Homey, spacious, and great customer service. We'll be back for sure!

We came to Maui with our 5 children to be married. We chose this property because of its size to fit us all.

Pros: The condo is very large and you can easily fit a large family. There are 3 large bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms (even better with 4 teenagers). The beds were very comfortable.

We had a view of the ocean from the balcony and enjoyed sitting out there in the morning drinking our coffee. It was nice as we could actually see whales breaching from right there!

The pool was nice and the kids loved swimming. There are 2 gas grills we used frequently for cooking dinner on.

Cons: The bedroom my husband and I chose was in the back of the condo and the AC unit in that room did not work. It became very hot at night. We notified the owner and the management company immediately about it. The owner replied promptly but unfortunately couldn't do anything about it. The management company informed us that we were not the first to complain and that they knew it was broke before we arrived. Unfortunately they didn't have another AC unit on the island that fit and we spent the entire vacation without AC in our room. This was very upsetting and made for sleeping a miserable and uncomfortable experience.

The appliances in the unit need updating. The dishwasher racks were rusted and it didn't clean the dishes well. The washer is rusted/dryer unit is rusted and is very noisy when you run it.

The condo needed a good cleaning.

We also had an ant problem. I understand bugs are a part of a tropical island but my kids woke up with ants crawling all over there toothbrushes.

I was disappointed as we spent 10 nights in this condo and for the amount of money spent it would have been nice to be comfortable. There is no peace of mind that if something goes wrong the management company will make any effort to make the situation better.

Owner's Response: While I am very sorry for this experience, I think this review of only 2 stars is very off. First of all, our unit is clean. It receives professional cleaning services each & every time it is rented out as well as after our family spends time there. Our home is NOT dirty. I am very, very sorry about the AC. I was unaware of this problem & as soon as I became aware, I worked diligently with our management to remedy the problem immediately. Our house is equipped with multiple AC units. When they are all running at once, the property becomes COLD (under 68°F), including the back room. There have been many times where I have had to wear a wool sweater in our unit because the men in our family like it really cold! I can only surmise that our guest must have left the room closed up all day & night so that no air circulated back there, creating a warm & stuffy environment. The room is also equipped with a fan, but I guess they chose not to use it? I'm not intentionally trying to be defensive. I want to create the best possible place for people to have a fun & relaxing vacation because that's how I want to feel when I am there. I want my vacation home to be as nice as possible, for everyone who goes there. It's the pride & joy of our family, that we worked so hard to be able to buy. I felt like this person has unfairly reviewed our lovely home, so I felt I needed to be bold in my response. The reviewer eludes to the fact that they spent a lot of money, but fails to let anyone reading know that I gave them a sizable refund for the inconvenience they experienced. They also, at any time, had the freedom to leave our property and go somewhere else, which they chose not to do. I fully accept and acknowledge that things happen that are beyond my control. That's just the reality of owning a home or even renting an apartment. Problems happen and the best we can do is work our hardest to make sure that the issues get fixed in a timely manner and that any and all actions are taken to prevent the same problems from happening in the future. I hope that anyone reading my response can feel confident that I care about our home & that I care about what kind of time you have there. I am ready & willing to go above & beyond to make sure that everyone who rents our awesome vacation house wants to come back again & again....but, if you're the kind of person who gets all worked up over an ant or a squeaky dryer, our home is not the place for you. I suggest the Four Seasons. :)
