Paris is the number 1 city to visit in the WORLD and the best place on earth!
Much more luxurious and spacious than other apartments or a hotel.
Dear Julie and Bill,
We had a grand time staying at your
home in Paris. It was fab to be part of
a French neighborhood for those nine
days. The condo was very comfortable and
VERY convenient. We walked all around
the area and found it to be even better
than we had hoped it would be.
We got the 6 day museum pass and found
that to be helpful in allowing us to
maximize our museum visits.
I even found a yarn store less than a
block away, as well as a ribbon store! I
found everyone to be helpful and easy to
We were met at the airport by the
driver you arranged and then David was
there to show us around. It was a stress
free introduction to Paris after a long
flight. I particularly enjoyed the
everyday shopping and easy meal prep
(although I didn't do a lot of it!)
This is one of our favorite vacations.
It was a pleasure to stay at your home.
My teenage son and I stayed here for 5 nights in March 2015, and we could not have had a more wonderful experience.
LOCATION - extremely convenient to the Metro or easy walking access to Pompidou, Marais, Notre Dame and Ile St. Louis. There are various markets and boulangeries very near by. The apartment is in a very well-traveled but quiet area, and is very safe. I was unafraid to take my 14-year old son out at any hour.
AMENITIES - the (true) queen size bed is probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - period. The apartment was clean, bright, and homey. The kitchen is well stocked, and having the washing machine available was a wonderful convenience since we were traveling for a couple weeks total. There was a large variety of converters available which was helpful.
CONCIERGE - David was available by phone and text during our entire stay. He helped troubleshoot an issue I had with using hte washing machine, and offered some great recommendations as to where to watch the PSG-Chelsea Champions Match one evening. He was our "safety net" during our stay.
I've since recommended your property to a couple of friends who travel to Paris often, and I look forward to staying there again. Truly, this apartment is a gem!
We stayed in this comfortable flat in Paris for 5 nights in February 2015. The apartment was as advertised and fit our needs and wants. The bed and sofa were very comfortable, the shower was awesome with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We didn't cook in the kitchen, but did note there were pots/pans and a two burner stove, small refrigerator and cups/glasses. The kitchen was stocked with things like coffee and tea, sugar and some other basics, which was nice. We enjoyed the large sofa bed for lounging in the afternoons. It was cold while were were there and the apartment was nice and warm.
The location is good, there is a very nice bakery just across the street and several little markets close by. We really enjoyed the neighborhood, however, we'd probably choose to stay closer to the Latin Quarter next time for eating out options. There likely are great and economical choices close by, we just happened to like the eating options in the Latin Quarter better. All in all, we'd highly recommend this place for comfort, price and convenience. We only used the Metro to go to the Eiffel Tower and to/from he airport; all else was easy walk of 15-20 minutes.
We stayed here for a week this fall and loved it…and hope to return. Loved the contrast between the modern decorating and the old beamed ceiling. The bed was big and comfortable, the bath/shower had great pressure. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cookware, and pantry essentials. One really nice thing was finding lots of extras like guidebooks, maps, bathrobes, slippers, umbrellas, and a roller shopping bag for groceries. Thankfully it is a smoke free apartment, and thus a respite from the ubiquitous smokers of Paris.
Bill and Julie were great to work with, as was David who was there to greet us on moving in.
We had chosen this neighborhood based on a friend's recommendation, then narrowed down the properties based on what we wanted for our 5 night stay. First, we needed a queen-size bed. Easy in the States, but in Europe, you will usually find a double. We also wanted a sofa to relax on and read or watch TV. And a kitchen area with some form of table and at least two chairs. This apartment met all our criteria, was in a terrific location and was extremely comfortable. The bed was good; the water pressure in the shower was great; they provided lots of extras, like robes and slippers. Once we figured out how to get the burners on, we did just fine in the kitchen. Less than a block to a metro station and many bakeries and cafes in the neighborhood. Plus, places to buy food for breakfast or dinner or picnic lunches. Really loved the huge sofa, which is also the size of a queen size bed, in the living room. Two people could easily stretch out and snuggle in it. Apartment is on the third floor (American counting), and the steps can be tricky with luggage. Currently, there is no number on the outside of the building, so we ended up trying the security code on two doors before we found the right one. Hopefully, the number will be replaced soon. Easy transaction with the owners; met at the apartment by someone who showed us how things worked and gave us the keys. Plus, the number of someone to call - which we used when we couldn't get the stove top on. Free wi-fi in the apartment.Lots of info in the apartment about Paris, things to do, and how to do them. Heard very little noise from the neighbors. We walked a lot, but it is very convenient for the metro. Would welcome another visit in the future.
So I have to start by saying that although I have rented cottages via online sources, I had never used VRBO and had never rented anything overseas - I was a little unsure to begin with. However, once I contacted Julie, she responded immediately, and was very assuring - prompt, clear and concise in her explanations, and all details were provided upfront. She even allowed us to check in early, due to our very early morning flight. Additionally, we were able to store our luggage upon our departure, since we had a later departure. So accomodating.
The location of the apartment was great - super close to the metro and within walking distance of lots of tourist attractions, while still being private and quiet. There are stairs up to the apartment, but nothing my senior-aged mother-in-law couldn't handle after a long day of walking. Apartment was nice - it had all the basics, plus some. We were able to pickup some groceries close by, and ate breakfast at the apartment everyday. If you wanted, you could easily have been able to prep dinner as well. All necessities were there. Apartment was clean and tidy, and other then one window which didn't open (it was in the process of being repaired), there was nothing we weren't 100% satisified with.
I would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone travelling to Paris and wouldn't hesitate to book again myself!
Thanks again Julie and Bill!
The location is right next to the metro and within easy walking distance to many of the top attractions. No complaints there.
On the downside, even with the apartment shut up there is an abundance of noise from the street. I am not normally a light sleeper but both my wife and I were tossing and turning a good portion of the night.
I've traveled extensively in Europe and have spent months in France building up some tolerance to the smell of cigarette smoke but still found the strength of it surprising in this rental.
The description mentions the interior design but I don't believe it stands out. It;s starting to look a little tattered around edges.
We enjoyed this stay in Paris but, truthfully, I think that other rentals in the area can be found in the same price range that are without these issues. Or, do yourself a favor; save up some hotel points and get pampered at a quality Paris hotel.
