Wonderful spot for an autumn getaway!
My sister, two other friends and I rented the Star getaway for a very rare weekend away and had an absolutely wonderful time. It was very easy to find and conveniently located just off Hwy 34 on the way to Grand Lake. The cabin was immaculate upon our arrival and outfitted with everything we needed for our two-night stay. We enjoyed morning coffee in the sun on the upper deck, meals and movies by the cozy gas fireplace, and sleeping in 'the fort' (it's not just for kids!). The view of the lake is very pretty, marred only slightly by a row of storage sheds down the hill - but honestly we didn't even notice them after awhile. I highly recommend bundling up to sit outside on the top deck on a clear night - the stars are amazing and we spent a lovely hour or so just gazing up and identifying constellations.
I thought the cabin was an excellent value and a wonderful option to the much pricier waterfront properties in the area that really don't offer much more in the way of amenities. And - the owners were incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive. We will surely return to the Star Cabin again!
