STAR CABIN: CHARMING INTERIOR-DECKS-GRILL-FIREPIT-LOVELY VIEWS

Grand Lake Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-5)

Come stay in our charming, mountain lake home and enjoy the gorgeous, 180 degree views of Rocky Mountain National Park and Shadow Mountain Lake. Cook up a hearty breakfast in the kitchen and enjoy a cup of coffee while savoring the views, quiet location, and easy access to numerous activities. An artesian spring and willow bushes provide natural attractions for moose, fox, elk and other animals which you will likely see during your visit.

Spend a fun-filled day skiing, snowshoeing or browsing the shops in Grand Lake. How about sledding or cross country skiing with your family? This cabin is the ideal place for you to make those special memories that will last a lifetime. Have fun hanging out together and getting away from it all - enjoy board games, doing a puzzle, or just relaxing in the laid back Colorado mountains.

Have lunch or dinner in one of the many fine local restaurants. Perhaps you will decide to explore the night life in the valley, or maybe a relaxing evening at home is in order. The full kitchen has everything you need to make a wonderful home-cooked meal.

Return to the cozy cabin after a busy day in the mountains and sink into the soft recliner couch with a bowl of popcorn to watch a movie. When it's time for bed, climb our signature spiral staircase to the master bedroom and loft, aka 'the fort,' which is perfect for the young and the young at heart. Then nestle under the warm quilts for sweet dreams, until you awake to another amazing day in Grand Lake, Colorado.

**We also own the Moose Cabin, #218770. Rent one or both cabins! They are on the same 1/2 acre, but separate. A great place for two families to stay.***

We love the Grand Lake area and all of the outdoor activities it offers. We especially enjoy relaxing at the cabin when we are not going up to work! As lovely as the cabin is, we are always making improvements. We figure if we are comfortable there, our guests will be as well.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006

Skiing, hiking, wildlife, views, fishing, boating, snowshoeing! We really love to get out of the city and kick back in the mountains.

5/09: Recently, we had a gorgeous moose wander across our property. We quietly trailed it, taking many pictures. What a huge animal - we certainly kept our distance! We've observed elk while eating out on the deck.

The winter snowfalls are amazing. We had 3 feet out in the yard this winter! The summers are cooler than in Boulder, and we can see far more stars!

PERFECT FAMILY CABIN WITH LAKEFRONT VIEW

  • 5 of 5
Our trip to Grand Lake/Rocky Mountain National Park is a memory our family will always treasure. The Star cabin was perfect for my husband, me and our two grade-school boys. The kitchen has everything you need to make as many meals as you like, or you can barbecue outside. The upper and lower decks were our favorite places; my husband and I did a lot of reading sitting on the top looking over Shadow Mountain Lake. The two full bathrooms were a plus, too. The cabin feels newer and very well maintained. Our family hiked in RMNP, rented a motor boat from the Grand Lake Yacht Club, went whitewater rafting with Colorado River Runs in Radium (90 minutes away and very remote), went horseback riding at Sombrero Stables in Grand Lake and shopped in the town. The only thing I would say is that the town's cuisine is a little lacking (we're from Chicago and are used to all different types of great food). We did find good pizza at the bowling alley (Lulu City Pizza) and decent lunches at Cy's Deli and Blue Water Bakery. The mountains are such a magical place, and we're glad we had such a comfortable stay at the Star cabin.

The cabin was beautiful and clean. Owners were quick with responses and helpful. We would definitely recommend this cabin as the place to stay in Grand Lake! Grand Lake was a very enjoyable town and also would recommend spending a day at Hot Sulfur Springs. Lots of fun restaurants to choose from and hiking everywhere. We will return again and hope to make this a yearly destination!

STAR CABIN

  • 5 of 5
The star cabin was very cozy. It had a fireplace and kept us very toasty. It had a winding staircase leading up to a luxurious loft replete with a futon that overlooked the mountains. The kitchen was well-equipped and allowed for cooking our own food. The interior was all of knotty pine. We had a wonderful stay with our son and daughter-in-law. The Mountain grocery was not far. The instruction book was informative. We will stay again.

GREAT PLACE!

  • 5 of 5
Our family stayed at this cabin when we were taking a trip across Colorado. The cabin has lots of great amenities that make it feel like a home away from home. It is very clean and well cared for. The views from the cabin are great and it is very conveniently located close to restaurants, stores, and the National Park. The owners are very nice and helpful and us and our three young children had a wonderful stay. The sleeping area for the kids is a special memory-maker for them. Great place and we highly recommend this cabin. It is also next door to another cabin that they rent that could be convenient.

PERFECT COZY CABIN

  • 5 of 5
What a wonderful, cute, cozy, fun little cabin. My husband and I had a great romantic weekend here. The location and the views are wonderful and the cabin is so cute and cozy inside. Definitely a great place for the money. We wished we had kids with us - they would have loved the fort! Everything about this cabin is absolutely perfect!

WONDERFUL SPOT FOR AN AUTUMN GETAWAY!

  • 4 of 5
My sister, two other friends and I rented the Star getaway for a very rare weekend away and had an absolutely wonderful time. It was very easy to find and conveniently located just off Hwy 34 on the way to Grand Lake. The cabin was immaculate upon our arrival and outfitted with everything we needed for our two-night stay. We enjoyed morning coffee in the sun on the upper deck, meals and movies by the cozy gas fireplace, and sleeping in 'the fort' (it's not just for kids!). The view of the lake is very pretty, marred only slightly by a row of storage sheds down the hill - but honestly we didn't even notice them after awhile. I highly recommend bundling up to sit outside on the top deck on a clear night - the stars are amazing and we spent a lovely hour or so just gazing up and identifying constellations.

I thought the cabin was an excellent value and a wonderful option to the much pricier waterfront properties in the area that really don't offer much more in the way of amenities. And - the owners were incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive. We will surely return to the Star Cabin again!
