Bus System:
Muni Bus system:
The 37 bus stops right across the street from the apartment.
Before you leave the apartment, check the website and see how long the next bus will be, I always give myself 6 minutes time to get to the bus stop, this way you have no waiting time at the stop.
The best way to get downtown is to take the 37 to Castro, get off at Castro, then take the underground to Union Square, (The same bus ticket you bought on the 37 works for up to 2 hours for 2 transfers). If you are going to Fisherman’s Wharf, then also get off at Castro and take one of the Historic Street Cars to the Wharf, San Francisco bought antique street cars from other cities around the World; I love the ones from Milan, Italy.
If you intend to ride the cable cars, then it is cheaper to buy a bus pass, the fare on the bus is $1.50 and the cable cars are $5 so it’s better value to get a bus pass.
Places of Interest Close to the Apartment::
San Francisco has numerous great places to see, I am only going to list places very close to the apartment.
Places to see around the apartment:
Twin peaks – Why visit Twin Peaks? The view, the view, the view. Being almost at the geographical center of San Francisco there is no finer place to see the city than atop Twin Peaks. With its panoramic views, Twin Peaks should be a must-stop on every tourist’s list of places to go.
Named for its two virtually identical summits, Twin Peaks, stands at an elevation of about 922 feet, second highest in San Francisco. Though, best known for its viewpoint, Twin Peaks has practical uses as well. The lower portion of Twin Peaks has been developed into a residential community with colorful houses built into the hillside providing optimal views for their residents.
Castro – the official gay neighborhood of San Francisco. It’s worth a walk around to experience this vibrant location. There are lots of cafes, restaurants, bars, stores.
Guest Book:
The apartment was fantastic. Really great location with convenient parking
either under the apartment or over the road, so that we were able to leave the
car and use the equally convenient public transport into the city. The
apartment has everything you could possibly think of - Paul has thought of
everything! Really great to relax in and enjoy the wonderful views. We would certainly stay here again and can recommend to anyone looking at staying in San Francisco.
Paul & Lorraine Whybrow, Sydney NSW
This was such a wonderful apartment!! Paul has thought of everything a person could want or need (i.e. free laundry with detergent, laptop computer, cell phone, NetFlix movies, shampoo/conditioner etc.). Paul and Debbie were very helpful with tips during our stay. We would highly recommend this property to anyone. You certainly can't get a better view than this! We miss it already.
