This is a beautiful newly renovated house, centrally located in Manuel Antonio, however very secluded.
The house features a great living room and kitchen, nice pool, Jacuzzi, fully equipped kitchen, Internet and computer, Cable TV, three rooms and three and a half bath rooms distributed this way:
One room carries a full size bed and Jacuzzi
One room with a one full bed, a twin bed and private bathroom
One room with two bunk beds and shared bad rooms
The house is a 5 minutes car drive from stores, restaurants and other facilities; however the location is as quiet as it gets in Manuel Antonio.
The house is located around 3 k. from Quepos and 4 k from Manuel Antonio Beach. The house is located just a K from the main road between Manuel Antonio and Quepos. It is located on the top of the hill overlooking the beautiful valley of Pocares Portalon and Playa del Rey.
Manuel Antonio Beaches are considered some of the best beaches in Costa Rica. They are probably the most photographed.
My nephew Julian and I.
The Owner purchased this house in 2001
It was a great opportunity at the time.
Great location, beautiful views. Because it is a little bit off the main road, the house is quiet and super secluded, but yet close to the main attractions.
This villa, set at the end of a street, provides privacy in the heart of Manuel Antonio, yet there is easy access to the beach, park, tour operators, stores, and restaurants. There is a panoramic, sweeping view of a pristine valley, with a vista of mountains and sea beyond, where we watched beautiful sunrises every morning while sipping coffee and bird watching. In the neighborhood we saw a squirrel monkey, a sloth, and a rare duck (gray billed wood rail), iguanas, and many lovely birds. The private pool was a great place to unwind after the beach or the other exciting activities we did in the area (zip lining, white water rafting, surfing and paddle boarding, the Nat Park). While the home isn't luxurious, it has a nice kitchen, there is a nice view from inside, and there are verandas on 3 sides for nice light and bird watching. The home is safe, gated, and kept up by the caretaker, Elaudio, a very gentle, sweet man who is friendly and kind, and helpful without ever being intrusive. It is a roomy home where your family can enjoy their time together with privacy and space in a non-fussy atmosphere at a reasonable price. We recommend arriving during daylight hours, as the road leading to the house is daunting at night, with a steep drop that is not nearly as frightening in the daylight. There is a store just a .5k walk away, and you can catch the bus into town at the turn off to the little road, but you'll appreciate having a car if you stay here. My spouse and I are both over 55 but fit and enjoyed walking down the lane daily, but if you older or have mobility issues, it could pose a problem.
VILLA IS A NATURE LOVERS PARADISE!! On a hilltop overlooking two deep rain forest valleys with canopy views. Endangered squirrel and Capuchin monkeys in trees beside villa. Parrots, parakeets and sloths in villa trees. Magnificent landscaping! Pool is larger than photo would indicate and water is always very cool. Lots of amenities like huge free standing ice machine and water dispenser. Nine of us staying here now and we have lots of privacy, thanks to many verandas, patios, and cubby hole areas in the Villa. Two ensuite bathrooms for adults and kids sleeping in bunks have private hall bathroom. Bedroom air conditioners keep us cold at night. Upstairs is comfortable all day with many fans and lots of screened windows. We have even used the oven and stayed comfortable. Half bath is convenient for kitchen and living area. Everything in good working order and modern. Furniture is comfortable and what I call "beach basic". Large safe in Villa and property is securely fenced with locked gate. Caretaker is spoiling us rotten. He had the Villa spotlessly clean when we got here and gave us a tour of the house. This house is the best bargain in the Manuel Antonio area with easy access to both MA and Quepos. We have all slept like rocks every night and wake early to bird song. Even the teenagers are in bed very early and up at dawn. My husband and I are used to a King bed and thought we would miss it, but have been very comfortable at night. Main veranda has sunrise view behind the mountains. Just can't say enough nice things about this Villa and the property. We will always rent this place when we return to Costa Rica. Wish I could live here. Pura Vida!!!!
I cannot say enough nice things about this house.
When we arrived, the view from all the patios just blew us away. There is nearly a 180 degree view from the upstairs veranda that includes mountains and ocean and is completely stunning. And it's a perfect spot to see the sunrise, which is probably how the house got its name. On several occasions we got up at 5:30 just to see sunrise and have coffee on the veranda. There were 4 upstairs verandas total for a view all the way around.
At first I had my doubts about the mattresses on the beds because they aren't spring mattresses, however I slept soundly the whole week! The house was sparkly clean when we got there and was cleaned top to bottom twice more during our stay.
Eladio is the caretaker, and was wonderful to us. He was scarce when we were enjoying the house, but was easily found if we needed his help with anything.
The only two improvements that I would wish for are very minor. First, we wished there had been a grill to cook on because it would have been less time spent with the stove and oven. Also, we wished there had been more than 1 set of keys. The single set made it difficult for our group to split up and coordinate who would be home to open the gate.
As an added bonus, the house was easy to find. In Costa Rica, since there are no addresses, you have to give directions to the homes using landmarks. This house, being at the very end of a popular road was easy for the tour buses to find. At the last house I stayed at before this one, directions were a real hassle.
All in all, this house was a steal. The owner and caretaker were accommodating and so easy to deal with. And the house is truly GORGEOUS. The grounds were also well cared for. We had coconut and starfruit right there for the picking -- yummy!
me and my family stayed for 4 days at this great house, and i have to say that it was great place to stay, big spacius house with awesome view.
this are soe of the pros
full kitchen ( bring food so u can cook )
on site care taker ( great guy )
gated and secluded
cons (it depends on you)
pool is not deep
only the rooms have ac
and for some reason costa ricans dont belice on hot water tanks so the way water is heated is with this thing on top of the shower and it is not fast enough on heating water ( again this is a matter of taste)
i hope you enjoy your stay at villa amanecer as much as i did
