Great for families:
This house was built with large families in mind!
On the 3rd floor with its open floorplan (kitchen, dining, great room, ocean side and sound side porches) everyone in your group has room to gather for meals, movies or games. The antique dining room table is made of solid teak and the benches (from an old French train station) comfortable seat 8 adults, plus 2 chairs at the ends. There is a large outdoor table off the kitchen, on the screened porch, that seats 8.
With 4 floors to spread out, everyone in your group can also have time alone for napping, reading, or watching TV while you are on vacation.
With a second *full* kitchen located on the 1st floor, your group can totally customize your vacation to suit your needs.
Garage is stocked with beach chairs, toys, and a wagon to carry kids stuff and coolers to the beach.
Our neighborhood is family-oriented with very few summer rental properties. We are not on a through-road, so traffic is light- great for biking with kids.
Area rich in history and activities:
Beaufort, NC is a historic town just 10 minutes from our beach house. The homes in this little community date back to the 1700's and there are many historical tours and boat rides to educate you on the area.
Wonderful restaurants abound at the beach, and in Morehead City (back across the bridge) and in Beaufort. You can experience fine dining with the ocean for scenery, or enjoy the Crab Shack with the kids!
The NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is not to be missed! Huge sharks swim in the enormous tank that houses a replica of a German submarine shot down right of our coast during WWII.
Museums, movies, shopping, golf and boating are plentiful. Fisherman love the area for its proximity to the jet stream. Charter a boat with a local captain and see what you can haul in!
