Angola Vacation Rental house

My dealings with the management company for this rental were very positive. They were very quick with communication and very professional. I should have expected that such a bargain (the house was cheaper to rent than most hotel rooms) would be reflected in the accommodations. The positives: the lake the house is on was lovely, and very close to a beautiful state park with lots of things to do. We were able to do some fun bass fishing off the pier in the back of the house as well, which was a bonus. Angola is a charming little town with plenty of amenities. The negatives: the house itself. It had everything in the description, we were in no way lied to. But the ceiling fan did not work, and with no air conditioning, it was pretty much miserable in there. The upstairs bedroom was really unusable due to the heat. I mentioned this to the management company, and they said the owner plans to install central air, which would raise my review to an average to good rating for sure. But even still, renters should be aware that they are going to get what they pay for...which is very little. The house is bare bones to say the least, old, and really quite shabby. But while I wouldn't recommend the house to someone looking to relax around the property itself, it is a very affordable option if you plan to spend your days out and about fishing, hiking, or antiquing, and just want a place to sleep at night. As for the area, make sure to venture up to the state park, grab ice cream at Scoops, and for sure go to one of the Tom's doughnuts in the area, they are amazing!
