This is not a house rental, this is a floor in a house rental. The floor we were on had sleeping space for 6, not 8-10 as described. There were only 3 double beds, no queens, no sofa bed, and no bunk area. There were not linens provided for 10, only the 3 double beds in the house. There was no outdoor grill on our floor, only the lower level. We were told we could use it, but pay a $15 fuel fee. There was only one tub/shower combo, not two. When we called the "owner's" phone number listed on this site, we were connected to the property manager, not the owner, who told us we were being difficult, and that we should have looked at the owner's website, not this one. The location was absolutely perfect, but the outright lies in the advertisement made our trip more expensive and stressful.
Owner's Response: It may get confusing for some of us when two condos are in one building. This is exactly what happened to Ms. Wendy. This review should prompt the potential renters to view the photos of both condos and the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, and living rooms on each floor and seek further clarification if needed. We always send a notification after the initial inquiry for you to go to our property website and view all of the above information and to see what our property has to offer. This website does not have all the pictures you might want to see but it gives you the general idea of the property lay-out and the floor plans. Wendy was asked to go to our website and view the property and we exchanged about 10 e-mails and phone conversations to clarify that the 2nd floor condo has 3 bedrooms with queen size beds in each bedroom that would sleep 6 adults!!! There is a leather couch and a leather loveseat in the living room that can sleep two and others can use sleeping bags and/or floor mat to accommodate up to 10 people. Wendy was still confused and she had visited our website and viewed a bunk bed in the 3rd floor condo. She questioned me about the bunkbeds when she had arrived at the property and thought she was going to use them as well. You can not please everybody!!!!! This condo has two full baths and our property has a gas grill on the 1st floor deck next to a staircase to the beach as the City of Virginia Beach does not allow gas-grills on the balconies due to fire hazards. We did not advertise any grill on the balconies either and we did not charge Wendy $15.00 for gas-grill usage. As you see comments from other reviews that week, property owner had visited his guests on site. Wendy had more than the allowed guests staying at the condo. After all this confusion, we still welcome Wendy and her family to vacation with BeachfrontRentalsVA for years to come.
