Fishing: Fishing around Pipestem is excellent year around, but Smallmouth Bass / Bronzeback fishing in October, November and December is phenomenal. Guided float fishing tours are available in the area. We are close by the New River, Greenbrier and Bluestone river and Lake. There are numerous streams and stocked ponds where you can fish for Trout. Fly fishing in the New River is year around.

Hunting: Southern West Virginia is an excellent area for hunting. Numerous public and private hunting grounds surround Pipestem. Species such as Deer, Turkey, Grouse, and lots of other species are plentiful. On our website we have a link to the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources which gives you all the information you will need, such as how to apply for out of state licenses etc.

Golfing: Right behind The Retreat at Pipestem, is the beautiful 18 hole Golf Course of the Pipestem State Park and Resort. The fees are very reasonable, and can be found at their website.
