Off Season: Getting Away from it All

What a charming cottage with all the amenities one could wish for including a wonderful corner gas fireplace and all the info one could hope to find outside a library!
A couple of minutes to the beach and total solitude within, during late April and early May. The perfect time to visit the Cape if you do not want to go in the ocean, There is plenty to see and do even when the weather is not the best. A lack of sunshine did not keep us indoors and this spot is a central starting point for all adventures on the Cape from Provincetown to Sandwich.
Tons of great eateries; check out The Optimist Cafe in Yarmouthport for the best breakfast or lunch in town along with an amazing historical twist and high tea for those inclined.
A must see is the Stoney Brook Mill and herring run in Brewster with its hundreds of seagull inhabitants and meandering stream and small falls.
Check out the libraries on the Cape and become a member even if only visiting for a week :) Book sales are a plus for the avid reader along with internet use.
So many small shops and antique stores with a full range of goodies.
Personal favourites were visiting the lighthouses and the National Seashore and places to see off the main roads.
Coming home to "our cottage" was inviting and made us feel welcome at the end of a day of touring.
Rich, our owner and host, was absolutely superb and was always available if we had any questions or a few moments to stop and chat.
This was our choice of venue to spend a week of our honeymoon and we would not change anything. We started our search on homeaway.com and could not be more pleased with our resulting vacation. It is a phtographers paradise.
