As stated before, this house is brand new, and we haven’t even finished putting the artwork on the walls, but it is so cozy that you will want to come back, not just to visit San Miguel and all it has to offer but to see how our home progresses. This is really a neighborhood that is so close to all that there is to do in San Miguel. Great restaurants, theater, art, music, local markets, etc. ... and all this can be at your fingertips without paying the price for being in “Centro.” Enter through our beautiful wrought iron door and walk under the new trellis we have built that will be covered with lovely local flowers, and enter into the main room of the house with its mango colored walls and a cantera fireplace which opens into our fully equipped kitchen where there is a door that leads into a small outdoor area with plants to enjoy while you are having a Mexican breakfast. Also there is a bathroom located on this floor with, of course, Mexican tiles and more colors of Mexico.
Follow the great staircase up to the first floor, this is the office corner with a desk, broadband Internet connection (Ethernet cable and wireless)and a nice comfortable bench if someone wants to keep you company while you are sending emails home to all your friends telling them about San Miguel or checking online for San Miguel's events of the day. Also on this floor is the first bedroom, which sleeps two in a Queen bed with a fabulous newly carved out headboard, ceiling fan, Sony LCD flat screen TV (with cable access to local and international programs) and bathroom with again Mexican tiles and a great shower and bath which is all tiled, plus a hammered brass sink. Then take the staircase up to the next level to the second bedroom. This can be either two twins or a King bed with more beautiful carved headboards, ceiling fan, another LCD flat screen TV (with also full cable access) and a full bathroom with a gorgeous ceramic sink.
This room opens up onto a lovely terrace with an outdoor couch and beautiful plants. Also on this level, there is a brand new washer dryer in a room right outside the bedroom. From the terrace you will take a circular staircase up to our rooftop garden where you can enjoy the view of the whole city with all different kinds of flowering plants and a table and chairs where you can relax and enjoy a nice cool drink.
Truly, it is hard to describe the magic of this city. You need to come down and experience it for yourself, and you will feel at home doing that from this wonderful townhouse in the heart of San Miguel, Colonia San Antonio.
Guest Book:
Araceli, your house manager, was lovely and we very much appreciated your hospitality. All the food and drink were heartily welcomed and we didn't leave that house until the morning. Thank you.
We enjoyed our stay and tremendously. We visited Guanajuato and the baths at La Gruta, both were not to be missed. We never did find the ceramics in Dolores Hildago, although we didn't prepare well for that either. The food in San Miguel was delicious every meal without exception was to be recommended. We spent several evenings on the roof deck watching either fireworks or the lightning over the hills. We could not have been more comfortable and after four frantic days in Mexico City staying at 28 Abril Norte was a wonderful way to complete our vacation.
