Hikers and outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the Tahoe National Forest and the many recreation opportunities it affords throughout the seasons. Canoists and kayakers have many local options, including the put in point for one of the most popular rafting day trips on the Truckee River. Bicyclists will enjoy access to many local road and bike trail options, including miles of scenic paved roads with little traffic and many logging roads on public Tahoe NFS property. Mount Watson has extensive two track and mountain bike only trails. Hikers & bikers will enjoy access right through the neighborhood to the Pacific Crest and Tahoe Rim Trails on Watson Peak above. The nearest boat landing on Lake Tahoe's north shore at Lake Forest USCG Station is a short drive away, offering Tahoe's big blue water experience for those with boats.
