Your home-away-from-home includes 10 ft ceilings; Granite, Tile, and Rich Chestnut colored Laminant throughout; Stainless Steel Appliances; In-Suite Laundry; and a gas Fireplace.
This is a brand-new suite that is professionally designed and decorated and includes a private bedroom area with a Queen-sized Sealy Mattress that has additional memory foam added to increase the height and comfort of your bed. The 600 - 1000 thread-count sheets and non-allergenic down-comforter will also ensure that you have a restful nights sleep.
While enjoying your breakfast from your private balcony, you can watch the golfers on the 3rd fairway pass by your top floor suite. Frank lives in Edmonton, AB Canada, and purchased his suites in Bear Mountain during the initial construction stages back in 2006.
The partners have been sharing their suites with guests from VRBO ever since the completion of construction back in 2008.

Frank was looking at creating a home away from home... With Frank being an avid golfer, and Bear Mountain being ranked as one of the best (36 hole) courses in Canada, it was an easy decision on where to purchase. Not to mention the Resort is ideally located with quick and easy access to downtown Victoria, the Highlands, Sooke, and the upper Island destinations.
The Resort is similar to Whistler in that you feel like you are in an Alpine resort with all the Luxurious amenities, yet you are also a 12 minute drive into Victoria BC with all of it's tourist attractions and famous landmarks. The Highlands (where Bear Mountain is located) has been fully developed with all of the large Box Stores like, Costco, Walmart, Home Depot, etc... It's just an ideal place to relax, breathe the mountain and ocean air, and even shop or go on tours by day, and enjoy the restaurants and nightlife by night... Or if you'd rather you can stay in at night, and light up the BBQ (and fireplace) and enjoy the view of the heart of the village, with a nice meal, while lounging out on your large balcony. It's all good!
We stayed here in July and although it's a wonderful location away from the city and a beautiful, quiet setting, I was quite disappointed in the condo itself. Since I've stayed in several condos and grown accustomed to finding many things supplied, I was not prepared to find absolutely nothing. There is no shampoo, bar soap, dish detergent (only for dish washer), tissues, etc. It would have been prudent to wash out our glasses and not have to run the dishwasher everyday with so few items in it. There was a partial roll of a few paper towels and 2 rolls of toilet paper. Bring along everything or drive back down the mountain to the grocery store. It would have been wonderful to sit on the balcony, however the lone chair is broken and a couple of low fold out hard chairs are there with a table then out of reach. A few throw cushions on the sofa would make it comfortable for people with short legs. We did not find a guest directory and had no idea what to do with our garbage until we luckily ran into a resident and asked. Also there is no trolley as advertised. We asked at the hotel and was told there was no such thing.
For a condo advertised as "luxury", I felt it was not. A few little additions would help greatly.
My husband and I spent 8 days at Bear Mountain condo. We found the description of the property to be accurate and the photos current. The condo was clean and well-maintained.It is important to us that the bed is comfortable and, it was. We were happy with the location - just outside of Victoria. Shopping for groceries etc. was very handy. There were many options for restaurants nearby. Certainly,we would recommed the property to others.
We would have liked to be able to make local phone calls, and to have easier access to the internet. The lighting in the living room was somewhat limited. However,our overall experience was that this facility was good value for our money.
This place is shiny new with all the trimmings. We enjoyed a nice stay at Bear Mountain at a well priced unit within walking distance of all resort amenities.
