Mountain Retreat --- Great Place

I found this property while searching the web for rental houses in the Boone/Linville, NC area. The house was everything that was advertised and more! I corresponded with the owners thru e-mail and phone - paid the deposit and final by check and was notified when they received both. Upon arrival we found the property exceptionally clean and well equipped. I cooked several meals while there and found all the cooking utensils I needed to do so.
The beds were very comfortable for all of us. The house was really a home away from home!
We were centrally located between Boone and Linville and close to the Blueridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain and within a reasonable distance from a grocery store, and other small shops, yet away from the hustle and bustle! It was a short ride into Boone for larger shopping adventures if wanted. Also close to the "original" Mast General Store -- a unique place to visit - there is also a large Mast Store in downtown Boone. We enjoyed sitting and/or eating on the deck and enjoying the view. There were wild turkeys coming thru the yard in the mornings and other wildlife observed.
The owners gave us helpful hints of things to do in the area and of any special events taking place. The owners picked up garbage several times a week. Tip - don't put out the garbage at night --- we apparently had a bear visit one night - we heard a noise but didn't realize until morning what had happened!
There are neighboring houses but very, very little traffic or noise. The ride up and down the mountain to get to this house is an amazing drive in itself but easy to find with the owner's directions. I would gladly revisit this property if needed in the same area and would highly recommend it to others. The pictures and description are true to life!
