Stop Looking...You Have Found the Perfect House!!!

5 of 5
Submitted: January 4, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
I hope that I can convey in words how beautiful this home and the surrounding are! First, as a woman, the kitchen is to die for!!! Above average appliances, every kitchen gadget you could need and then some and enough dishes, glasses and silverware to feed an army! I could have made all of our favorite dishes just like I do at home and had everything I needed. Not much was said about the bedrooms in the reviews so I was a little worried...got over that REAL quick! Usually our family fights over who is sleeping where, not this time! There was not a bad bedroom in the house! Bathrooms wonderful! My 6'6" husband fell in love with the hot tub and the extra large tub in the master bath. It took me a few days to stop stubbing my toe on the DEEP tub in the loft bathroom but the pain was worth the wonderful soak! Our teenage girls love the "kids" room with the bunk bed and futon, lets not forget the game systems. HUGE hit!

The surroundings are fantastic! Keep in mind that we are a Florida family so just to see mountains is a treat, but because we were so high up we could see snow most days at home and every time we left the house. Close by you can visit Grandfather Mountain and the Mile High Bridge. You can go tubing at Hawks Nest. Shopping at the Tanger Outlets was a big hit. Dont forget the Mast Store! This store is on the National Registry of Historic Buildings and I can see why. I loved walking around the original building just to hear the wood floors creak! And lunch at Dan'l Boone is worth the trip and the wait! We would have liked to have traveld the NC Scenic Route but since we had a 12 hour drive we tried to keep the car time to a minimum.

Outside the house is plenty of room to run with your kids and dogs! If you sit outside quietly towards the end of the day you will see plenty of deer. But we enjoyed walking and listening to the peacful calls and sounds of nature. The stream that runs behind the house is soothing and peaceful. I can see a weeks worth of fun just being at the house if you are there when the weather is warm! I can only imagine how beautiful it looks with all the green everywhere.

Things I would change: Better hangers! And update the listing. It does not do the home justice. One of the best highlights: Patsy! She cares for the property and she checked in to make sure we got there okay, if we needed anything, and answered all of our questions!! She is an Angel!!

Iam ready to book for winter 2013!!

Beautiful house and surroundings

Hi Steve, my wife, our dogs and I stayed at your home in September of 2011. Each year we try to stay somwhere different, this year we stayed at a house that we thought was similiar to yours on a lake in the state of NY. We wanted to let you know that it by far was no where near as nice as your home in any way and was built in 2006. We were looking back at yours and wanted to send you a short note letting you know just how nice your house is.

Beautiful and peaceful retreat

Steve,
Just wanted you to know how much our family enjoyed our stay. The home was just as depicted in the photos...beautiful, clean, and providing fantastic views of the stream! We loved the quiet of the setting with the calm sound of rushing water always in the background. It was great to explore the woods and stream, and the guys enjoyed some fishing.

The Boone, Blowing Rock, Beech Mountain area has so much to offer. Some of the things we liked best were eating a wonderful meal at the Dan'l Boone Inn, browsing in the Mast General Store, and riding down to Linville Falls for a picnic and hike...all within easy travel distance. I would definitely recommend this house for location, setting, and beauty inside and out!

Multiple stays

Submitted: December 20, 2011 Stayed: November 2011
My family of five spend a lot of time in the NC mountains--this is one of our favorite spots. We have vacationed here several times. The house is beautiful and the setting is perfect. On our last trip in November 2011, our three boys caught and released ten trout in the creek -- hours of fun. Nice big yard for football, etc, covered and uncovered porch areas are extensive with plenty of seating. Saw deer each night, turkey spottings not uncommon. Hard to beat if you are looking for a quiet place to retreat. Same owner offers "Fisherman's Cabin" up the creek which is also a wonderful location and has an large outdoor living and cooking area. Have stayed there as well -- both are great choices.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to share. The creek is such a hit with the younger ones for exploring, etc. as it is for the fishermen of the family. We are happy to be considered a favorite vacation spot for your family :)

Fantastic secluded getaway!

Steve, Just wanted to say thanks for building such a beautiful vacation home in an absolutely beautiful location! Our entire family totally enjoyed the experience. The grands had an absolute ball in the creek wading, moving rocks, building waterfalls and swimming. My husband was very excited about catching trout in the stream. He was very happily surprised at how many were there! The huge deck was great and the lawn area provided many hours of fun playing croquet, baseball and throwing frisbees! All in all it was a great family time for all of us. It is definitely on our list for a return visit!
Thanks again, Deidra and family
