We are a family of 5 who absolutely love sneaking away from the big city of Atlanta to enjoy all of the simple wonders of lake Sinclair!
Jeanne Andrews purchased this house in 2004
We looked at a LOT of houses and the view from this home was absolutely the best. We also love the location being on the most gorgeous, deep water and 10 minutes from downtown Milledgeville.
We had a great time at your house. The master bed was very comfortable. The lake is ideal for doing water sports. We skied, tubed, wake boarded, and used a few other water-ride gadgets. Your dock was awesome. It was the hangout for three separate days for all of the families because it had cover.
We had game day at Rocky Creek--nice picnic with plenty of games including shoes, volleyball, and water balloon tossing.
Thanks again for being so hospitable.
My husband and I spent the month of January at this fantastic home on Lake Sinclair. From the moment we walked in the door, it exceeded our expectations. Plenty of room for families, a totally equipped kitchen, lots of fluffy towels, linens and laundry supplies. The awesome lake view blew our socks off. The sunsets were spectacular, and in the mornings, the early fog gently and quietly lifting to reveal the ducks, geese and the fishermen who were out there every day, was a scene we never tired of. Even with the colder temperatures and rainy days, we found it relaxing...like meditating. Although we didn't get to swim, we did enjoy the dock on warmer afternoons, sitting and watching the sunset. And on colder days, we lit a fire in the fireplace and enjoyed the view. The owners, Jeanne and Boyd, were fantastic, and quick to respond if we hit a snag. The house is just a 10 minute drive from the center of historic Milledgeville, and 20 minutes from shopping and movie theaters. For a quiet winter get-a-way, it was perfect. And I know it is sure to please any time of year. An added bonus...the wifi there is fantastic!!! We have stayed in many hotels where the wifi is slow and unreliable, and Jeanne and Boyd have provided top-notch internet access.
Best experience EVER! Pictures and descriptions are 100% accurate. They are current NOT 7 years old!!!!
Jeanne and Boyd, the owners, could not have been more helpful.
We took our two granddaughters ( 5 and 8) and our daughter and son-in-law. Kids were completely worn out every night from swinging, jumping off the dock, catching lightening bugs (no extra charge) and playing games. NOTE: I did not say watching TV or playing on their IPADS.
All bedding were comfortable. Girls enjoyed having their own beds.
Easy access to the house made it a delight to unload luggage and groceries.
The covered dock area was WONDERFUL to enjoy the late afternoon and evenings. It was 90 most of the days we were there but the shade and fans kept us cool. (And the A/C in the house kept it nice and cool when we were ready to come in)
Hope to make this an annual "family" vacation spot.
THANKS Jeanne and Boyd!!!!!!
My husband, two daughters & I recently spent 2 & 1/2 weeks at this fabulous lake house! We cannot say enough great things about this amazing and inviting home, not to mention, the wonderful owners. We were blown away when we walked in to find the home absolutely immaculate, which has not been our experience with other rentals in the past. We thought it looked even BETTER in person. We were just overwhelmed with the ambience, cleanliness, fantastic big water views, furnishings and overall splendor of the home. It was the perfect setting and location...the ambience and views were absolutely peaceful, calm and serene. Our two elementary school-aged daughters immediately ran to the room with the two pretty & comfortable queen beds, chose which bed they wanted, then checked out the rest of the house and we all immediately felt at home! The large deck/porch was wonderful and is where we ate most of our meals. The huge dock was fantastic!! Two kayaks, three pretty & comfortable Adirondack chairs with foot stools, and more. Our girls had the best time jumping in the lake from the dock over and over, while I enjoyed sunbathing and reading. We all enjoyed daily boating and kayaking, and had such fun exploring the area. My husband and the girls loved fishing on a daily basis! My husband now has an appreciation for fresh water fishing; and there were many bass fish right there at their dock where our daughter caught her first one. This lake house is well stocked (kitchen, linens, etc.) and has everything you would need for a fabulous vacation! We formed the most amazing memories at this wonderful home and cannot wait to return! We would absolutely recommend this property to family & friends, but we would make sure we booked our time there again first. This will definitely be our "go to" spot on the lake from here on out! Thank you for sharing your home with us, Jeanne and Boyd, and thank you for everything else you did to make this a memorable vacation for us!
We just returned from spending Memorial Day weekend at this location and it was perfect! We do a lot of renting from VRBO all over the country and sometimes no matter how hard we try to be careful there are times we are so disappointed. Not in this case. The views from the house and back deck were breathtaking. House was clean and very comfortable. LOVED not having a TV in the main gathering room!
We just spent the most relaxing and beautiful 5 days at this Lake Sinclair gem. It is so beautifully situated in a quiet cove and perfect for the use of the 2 kayaks from their dock. Kitchen has everything you need and then some to cook/ grill and love as if you were in your own home.
Was so clean and just what you want for a quiet getaway. Thanks to the Andrews family.
We spent a weekend at Lake Sinclair in August. There were 4 adults and 5 kids and plenty of room for everyone! You walk into this immaculate home and have a BEAUTIFUL unobstructed view of the lake from the main living area of the home (the master bedroom and TV room also have views of the lake). The kitchen was fully equipped with every utensil and appliance you need to cook a gourmet meal. We spent our days on the spacious dock which has room to enjoy the sun or relax in the shade. The kids could swim and kayak in the private cove. In the evenings, the adults enjoyed dinner and drinks on the deck while the kids watched movies in the TV room. The pictures on the website are exactly what you get at this home. We have had surprises before when the property is different from the website pictures but these are exactly the same - no surprises! The Andrews were very responsive when we had questions prior to booking this trip. I cannot give any recommendations in the area because once we arrived at this beautiful house, we never left! We will definitely rent this home again!!!!
The boat launch at Rocky Creek park is located one mile away and lovely historic downtown Milledgeville (restaurants, pubs, walking tours, historic homes, Old Capital Building) is a mere 10 minutes drive. Take a refreshing hike along the Oconee River Greenway just before downtown or check out one of the nine walks ranging from .7 miles to 5.5 miles in Milledgeville's famed Central State Hospital campus. Beautiful historic cities of Madison (Antiquing, historic homes), Eatonton (historic walking tour, Uncle Remus Museum) and Macon (GA Music Hall of Fame, Ocmulgee National Indian Mounds, Lights on Macon) all located along the Antebellum Trail and within a 30-45 minute drive.
Other Activities: Kayaking, boating
