'Halfway to Heaven' is located on top of Screamer Mountain, only 5 minutes from beautiful downtown Clayton, at 3,000 ft elevation. It is spectacular, quiet, and secluded; but only minutes away from fine restaurants and a multitude of outdoor activities. Our location on the opposite side of the mountain from Clayton gives you a panoramic, stunning view of the Chattahoochee National Forest that is mostly devoid of human presence. Enjoy breathtaking sunrises and enchanting afternoons from each of our 3 decks. Watching the ever changing play of sun and clouds on the vista beneath you is fascinating and awe inspiring. Our home is fully equipped and has over 1,500 sq. ft. of living space. Free Wi Fi of course, and a high definition flat screen TV, plus games, puzzles, and toys for the kids insure there's plenty to do when the sun goes down. With easy, paved access, a feeling of total serenity, and fine dining and shopping nearby, 'Halfway to Heaven' is a great family vacation home.

Nearest Motorway: Highway 441 & 76 at 2 Miles

Chattooga river excitement is minutes from our door, along with Tallulah Falls, Moccasin Creek, and Black Rock state parks. There are 5 beautiful lakes in Rabun county, along with year-round trout streams (and Andy's trout farm if your luck is down). The Appalachian trail, Bartram trail, and Chatooga river trail are but a partial list of hiking opportunities. Foxfire started here and the museum is nearby. Antique and crafts shops are plentiful, along with excellent restaurants and even a couple of wineries. Of course, our favorite activity is relaxing on one of our 3 decks and watching the afternoon shadows lengthen !

It has a whirlpool tub by the window, a shower, his and hers sinks, a luxurious king bed, deck with 2 hardwood rockers, and even a digital piano. A recliner, TV, and wet bar with mini fridge are also in the master! The den on the main level has a 1/2 bath and a full sized sleeper sofa, with a 4' memory foam topper. The lower level has 2 bedrooms, each with queen beds, a washer dryer, shower, and an expansive shared deck.
