Whether Beach Walking or Birdwatching is your preference, you will find that 'Above and Below' is the perfect destination on Dauphin Island. This brand new home is centrally located on Bienville Boulevard, across the street from the Public Beaches and Pier.

The property is set back in the woods, with a screened-in porch and outdoor ceiling fans, allowing for enjoyable, insect-free birdwatching. You will be within walking distance to local restaurants, however, preparing your own fresh daily catch in our fully stocked kitchen may be your choice. Perhaps you'll want to charter a deep sea fishing trip. The Dauphin Island Country Club is open to the public for golfing, canoe rentals, and beachside swimming pool . History and Nature are yours on this non-commercialized, earth-friendly island.

For a day get-away, you can travel less than one hour to Mississippi casinos, take a 45 minute Ferry to Gulf Shores, 30 min. to Mobile.

Beautiful House

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 little boys for a week in May 2010. The house is beautiful! All of my Mobile relatives who came to visit just loved it. It is centrally located and a very short walk to the public beach. Daddy and the 2 year old walked over to the beach every morning while baby and I got breakfast started. We all spent a lot of time on the porch which was screened in and a great place to hang out. I especially appreciated that linens and towels were supplied. At first I was worried that we were close to the road, but the screen door had a very high latch that my toddler could not reach. He also had a lot of fun playing with his trucks under the house where it was all paved and nice and cool.

Peaceful and relaxing

We enjoyed a relaxing stay at Dauphin Island and the house was perfect for my husband and I and our 2 teenagers. We could easily walk to the beach and also had a good time at the West End beach. The home had everything we needed and the kitchen was well stocked. I hope we get to visit again.

Great family getaway

When we asked our daughters their favorite vacation, they said the one at Dauphin Island. The home is perfect and decorated beautifully. It's a short walk to the beach, we have visited 2 times and stayed here on both occasions. The last visit we went to the bird sanctuary and loved it. This is the vacation spot that really had us focus on our family. We did a lot of walking, talking and spent the evening playing games. We made wonderful seafood meals at home and the whole family loved it better than eating out. This is a great place to reconnect with your children or your spouse. We hope to visit again soon.

Hands down the best place to stay

WOW what a great place. It was wonderful. Everything you see in this add is what you get.I felt so relaxed I really didnt want to leave. Its like your home away from home. so much to see and do . I hope next year we can do it all over again and stay longer. I have told many of my friends about this place . The beach has changed alot over the years (you have to walk down the beach a tad farther) but its all worth it. You cant ask for a better place or a better location than this. Thank you for a great time

What a treasure!

We so enjoyed our vacation to Dauphin Island. It is a true treasure and this house was perfect for our family. We were able to walk back and forth to the beach which was great for our young children. The house was kid friendly...sippy cups and plastic plates are always a plus when you are staying with toddlers! The owner called us shortly after we arrived to make sure we were getting settled without any problems. We loved that the Island has not been commercialized so if you are looking for a quiet place away from the craziness this is definately for you. We enjoyed "making friends" with the folks at Skinner Seafood - they were so helpful with choosing fresh seafood and describing how to prepare it ourselves. We have already recommended Dauphin Island and this little house to several people - we hope to return for years to come. Thanks to the owners for sharing their beautiful little hideaway!
