WALK TO THE BEACH AND ENJOY SECLUDED SURROUNDINGS OF THIS ENCHANTED BEACH HOUSE

With children ranging in ages from 17 to 4 it is had to keep them all engaged for a week but Dauphin Island can do it and this is a great location on the island. With a playground right across the street and the beach a couple of hundred yards beyond that the little kids had a wonderful time. The older ones brought their kayaks and fishing gear and spent most of their time on the water. A bike path goes the length of the island and it is also right out the front door. Add the Sea Lab, Audubon Bird Trail, Fort Givens and Shell Mound park and you have a recipe for a great spring break. We had one rain day so we took the ferry to Morgan Island and then drove to the the National Naval Aviation Museum; one of the best museums (if you like planes) in the country. We heard two Blue Angels practicing overhead but did not see them because of the overcast. The house itself has everything you need from washer&dryer to internet access. Waking up and having breakfast surrounded by the beautiful long leaf pines you knew you were on vacation. It was a memorable trip; we hope to return again next spring.

We stayed the week of the 4th. The house was clean and very welcoming! The island is very layed back, small enough you can enjoy riding your bikes everywhere you need to go. The town has a bike/jogging trail all through the island. Only 30 mins from Mobile and or the other direction, only a 30 minute ferry ride to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach. On the island my family enjoyed a day of deep sea fishing. Another day of playing golf at the Country Club and the kids enjoyed the country clubs pool and beach front swimming. The Country club is cute and seemed to take me back to the 60's. The kids while at the beach swimming at the Country club had the pleasure of a couple of dolphins swimming by them. While parasailing on the island we also spotted dolphins as well. Since we were on the island during the 4th of July they also put on a wonderful fireworks display. The owners of the home were very helpfull, and if you need anything the Manager is only a phone call away and they were very nice! We are looking forward to spending next 4th of July on the island again next summer. This home is exactly across the street from one of the two island's public beaches. The property is very clean and maintained and we are planning on renting it again.

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 little boys for a week in May 2010. The house is beautiful! All of my Mobile relatives who came to visit just loved it. It is centrally located and a very short walk to the public beach. Daddy and the 2 year old walked over to the beach every morning while baby and I got breakfast started. We all spent a lot of time on the porch which was screened in and a great place to hang out. I especially appreciated that linens and towels were supplied. At first I was worried that we were close to the road, but the screen door had a very high latch that my toddler could not reach. He also had a lot of fun playing with his trucks under the house where it was all paved and nice and cool.
