About The Owner

The Sculptor's House has been in our family for over 50 years. It was home to our great uncle, Ted Karam, who is one of Saint Augustine's most prestigious sculptors. Our uncle left us his home and we've named the house after him thus, "The Sculptor's House".

We are Jeanne and Katherine Abboud. We are sister's and we co-own The Sculptor's House.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005
Why The Owner chose St. Augustine

Someone once told us that "you don't pick Saint Augustine, it picks you", and they are right! We inherited this fabulous house and renovated it down to the last detail. We were inspired by our Uncle's creativity, and his love for Saint Augustine. This is our family jewel, and we're enjoying creating so many family memories at The Sculptor's House.

What makes this house unique

The Sculptor's House allows our family, friends, and guests to experience Saint Augustine to it's fullest. We are conveniently located on a quiet, peaceful street, yet we are a few minute walk to downtown. We spent 2 years renovating the house so that it has every convenience.

The best part about The Sculptor's House is that you can walk to town, sit on the wrap around terrace and enjoy the breath taking view, walk through the gardens, or pick fresh fruit from our own orchard on the property; complete with grapefruit, oranges, limes, lemons, and cumquats, and avocados.

The Sculptor's House proves that you can have it all - the convenience to town, while enjoying the peaceful tranquility of the water. We truly have the best location and view in the city. This is a real treasure for all who visit.

Absolutely Lovely

As an editor and writer for a travel publishing company, I've had an opportunity to stay at many beautiful places. Truly, this is one of my favorites.

The Sculptor's House is both supremely lovely and very comfortable. The peaceful tidal marsh, with a long view to the ocean, can be seen along the entire back of the home - and it is ever-changing as the tides move in and out. Each day, dolphins and herons came to fish in the inlet, and fiddler crabs scurried through the reeds near our seawall. At night, we walked to see the Castillo de San Marcos fort lit up, had ice cream at Kilwin's on St. George Street, and took a ghost tour by trolley (we really liked being in the Old Jail at night). The historic downtown, Ripley's Believe it or Not! and the visitors center is just a few minutes walk from the house, and the lighthouse, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, and the beach are a 10-minute drive over the Bridge of Lions.

My favorite thing about our vacation was waking up early each morning to watch sunrise from the blue bedroom, and then having coffee out on the deck before going for a run through the historic district. On our second day of vacation, I called a friend to say if I could live in this house, I thought I might never ask for another thing. My two teenagers and our little dog loved it too.

Wonderful property, great location

This is a well-maintained and well-equipped house. Beautiful views of the intracoastal waterway from the private back yard. With 2 living areas, the house feels very spacious. You can enjoy the view from inside through the large windows or outside on the lovely patio. The historic district of St. Augustine is a pleasant 10 minute walk away. The neighborhood is very quiet, except for some barking dogs during the day. I would recommend this property of anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing place to stay while in St. Augustine.

Amazing....A FEAST for all the Senses!

Wow!! That was the reaction of the whole family when we saw this beautiful property for the first time. This house is AMAZING! The pictures are true-to-life. Every room has been decorated beautifully--this is a home that has been designed with amazing care. Best of all, it is not only beautiful, but very comfortable. The master bedroom shower has FIVE heads--what a great way to wake up every morning! The beds are extremely comfortable, as well.

This house is on the water (incredible views from the huge windows), but it's also a very short walk to everything we wanted to do in St. Augustine. The Old Town Trolley depot is about a block and a half from the house, so we just parked our car and used the hop-on, hop-off trolley for transportation (passes are good for 3 days). We could have walked everywhere, but it was HOT the days we were there so the trolley worked out perfectly. We walked to Ann O'Malley's pub every night we were there and found it to be one of the friendliest places we've ever encountered (do not miss Open Mic night on Tuesdays).

We were in St. Augustine for 4 days and felt like we were just getting started! In fact, our only regret would be not staying longer--there's so much to see and discover. Especially if you enjoy great food and drink!

We appreciated the personal care which with this property is managed. When we inquired, we were called back right away by one of the owners and she was happy to answer all of our questions. I also spoke several times with the property manager before arrival. When we arrived, we were very impressed with the CLEANLINESS of the house. They do a beautiful job, and I'll admit that I have pretty high standards when it comes to clean.

I highly recommend this property. It is more expensive than some, but it's worth every penny. If you want a premium house, in a premium location, with a premium view, you will not be disappointed. Our family will be back!!
