I chose this rental based on location, amenities, price and the write-up given on the rental page. Upon arrival, I was warned the A/C might go out. (Bad) The location was not easy to find or accessible to all the ad says, did not have all amenties stated in write-up. The unit was dirty. Stated it is non-smoking- but it reeked of cigarette smoke. Kitchen is minimally stocked. The unit was dirty. Ran out of toliet paper-requested more-never got it. Price was too high for what we got- peak season or not. The unit was really dirty. We had to sweep and scrub upon arrival. Carpet was so dirty, feet were black after walking on it from the bathroom to bedroom. Beds were old, pillows were useless. Railing on stairway was hanging off the wall - ready to break any minute. I would not recommend this to a family especially with children.
Was not made aware of any guarantee by HomeAway so basically, I spent a lot of money and had a terrible vacation while in the unit.
Owner's Response: The whole thing is completely inaccurate! Upon arrival, they inspected the unit and then stated that is was a nice place and paid the money due. Then they were scheduled to leave on the 3rd and paid for as such and stayed till the 4th which cause me lost revenue. Never did I say the A/C would go out; I did in fact state that if anything did go wrong to call us and we go be there to address it as the renters did the week before when then A/C went out. (Which was fixed rather quickly.) The location is very easy to find as it is located on a circle, again not once did they call to get directions, they chose to find it on their own. All the amenities and then some are in the unit. The ad is completely accurate as to what is included in the home. the unit itself was spotless as I went in after the cleaners and made sure everything was in its proper place, in fact I even let them know that everything was done but periodically throughout the week the floor would get a little dirty from the traffic going back and forth from the beach and that there is a swiffer wet jet for just that purpose. There were 12 rolls for a 5 day period; what happened to it I am not sure. Also when I got there to inspect the unit, there were 2 rolls still in the holder as I had told her there would be. The price is actually comparable if not cheaper than everyone else renting on the beach for all that we are offering in our unit. Again the unit was spotless and the carpet was not dirty. All the furniture in the home is less than a year old with the exception of a few pieces here and there (i.e. the coffeetable and nightstands) The railing was not even close to coming off the wall and both of them are in tact. My family consists of my husband and myslef and 3 small children ages 4 down. This is their favorite place to stay at and we are there as much as possible. I would never stay anywhere that was dangerous to my family.
Basically, the unit is in great shape and everything on my page is accurate.
