Comfortable beach house in exclusive Pirates Beach West. House has three bedrooms (king, queen, double and twin with trundle) and can accommodate eight people. Partial ocean view from the covered deck, living room and master bedroom. House is located beach side and three short blocks to the beach. The home is equipped with many amenities including a full kitchen, washer/dryer, four televisions (one in each bedroom), wireless broadband Internet access and outdoor grill. Complimentary Galveston Country Club guest passes are available on weekly rentals. Our home features an over sized yard with nice landscaping, outdoor shower, and sand volleyball court. Vacant lot on one side of the house allows for extra room to play ball with the kids. We have a portable crib and swing available for the infants/toddlers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and experienced great beauty & relaxtion. The house is very well maintained and equipped for all of your needs. We felt very comfortable and we weren't afraid to "live" in it as our home during our stay. The ocean is right there and the surrounding neighborhood is very peaceful with beautiful landscaping. The different species of birds you experience while sitting on the deck is incredible. We would definitely stay there again if we ever have the opportunity to return.

Very nice, up-to-date, well appointed, comfortable home especially for families. Lots of beach toys and games inside. The DVD players (2) were great. Wireless network was super. Property was clean and well maintained. Neighborhood felt safe and was quiet (except for early morning traffic noise from the hiway behind the house). Kitchen was well equipped with dishes and utensils. Walk to the beach was short. The beach was clean and uncrowded. We met other people both renting and owning in the neighborhood and all were very congenial.

Galveston Island Beach House

Galveston Island is still much in recovery mode from Ike, and many vacation homes and businesses are still in need of repair. This beach house, and Pirates Beach West, suffered very little damage and therefore is especially prized at this time. The property is sparkling clean and has been well maintained. There are many 'kid' oriented toys including toys for the beach and a good collection of children's CDs. Adults will enjoy the carefully decorated living areas and well-appointed kitchen. There are many good places to eat in the seawall area with more businesses opening up on the Strand every day. As birders, we especially enjoyed nearly Lafitte's Preserve, as well as several nearby ponds, the beach and the State Park for viewing. Golfers can use the nearly country club, or, with less expense, the Moody Golf course. The owners are friendly and accessible. You will like this site!

Happily Surprised

I rented the place as a surprise 65th birthday gift for my wife, and the first surprise was the wonderful beach house. It was equipped like a real home and it felt like that to us. My granddaughter liked our "new" home better than our home in Houston. We even had the beach toys with which to build an excellent sand castle. Couldn't have been more pleased.
