First-World Luxury in Jungle

We absolutely loved everything about our stay in this villa. If you value serenity, privacy, and luxury and are looking for an amazing place to stay in Costa Rica, look no further! We enjoyed fresh fish for dinner (caught by a local); we bought bags and bags of fresh fruit at road side stands (for pennies); we enjoyed home made bread purchased right at the mini super in Roma Del Mar; and we floated in the gorgeous infinity-edge pool while overlooking the best view in all of Roma del Mar.

Having Jenny and Lars, the property managers, available at all times made it easy to get directions, recommendations, and the occasional translation! They arranged for Anja to come give us massages and pedicures, and she was a wealth of information on what to see and do in the area. The villa's location made it easy for us to get to several world-class beaches like Montezuma, Mal Pais, and Samara...yet we got to go "home" away from the tourists and the sterility that can come with heavily populated vacation spots. The little market located right in the Roma Del Mar compound was very convenient and had a great selection.

We would recommend this villa without hesitation! Five stars is not enough!

The house at Roma del Mar is stunning. It is very spacious and clean with unbelievable views of the ocean. The infinity pool comes in very handy for the beautiful Costa Rican weather.

The Roma del Mar complex is in a great location; not far from the ferry but tucked away in its own little paradise. We felt very safe while staying there. The property is exactly as described in the ad and the pictures accurately portray the house.

Agnes and Miguel went out of their way to be helpful. We loved going down to the store to sample Agnes' fresh baked muffins and bread. You must try her pizza too; it is one of a kind!

We would definitely go back here and we will be highly recommending it to friends and family.

Recently visited this beautiful home in Costa Rica and it was everything they said it would be. There were monkeys in the trees right in our subdivision and we could walk down to a private beach or swim in our very private pool and enjoy the view of the ocean. The house was immaculate! They were even able to provide us with internet service (for a very minimal fee) so that we could email family and friends. The ferry to the mainland is only a 3-minute drive from the house.

The property managers were very helpful in giving us directions and setting us up with services such as massages and renting a boat & driver for the day so we could go snorkeling and fishing! We caught two huge fish and grilled them up for dinner after spending the afternoon on beach at Tortuga Islands.

The bedrooms were large and the house is huge. My husband and I went with another couple and had completely separate sides of the house and our own bathrooms.

This area of the country is more rural than some areas and you must have a sense of adventure if you are going to stray out from the house each day. The roads are not "american" roads and most are dirt at best. Renting a car is wise but the navigation is often useless. Carry a Spanish/English dictionary and have a sense of humor and you will have the TIME OF YOUR LIFE! We spent one day in Montezuma climbing a beautiful waterfall, one day fishing and laying on the beach, one day we stayed at the house and swam and played cards... and each time we would stop at some small road-side restaurant and have the most amazing food. It was amazing. All of it.
