Get back to those simple pleasures in our cabin, which is located in a beautiful, quiet country setting far from the chaos of modern life in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains. The cabin is just a five minute walk to a lake where you can swim, fish or canoe (canoe and life jackets provided). Or spend the day exploring the many surrounding towns with antiques, restaurants and shopping galore. Other activities nearby include: hiking, horseback riding, Tanglewood, children's arts programming, The Mount (Edith Wharton's home), Arrowhead (Herman Melville's home) Jacob's Pillow Dance, outlet shopping, summer stock theater, Shakespeare and Company, Berkshire Museum, Clark Museum of Art, Eric Carle Museum, Heartwood School and Becket Arts Center among many, many others.

We stayed at the end of June and were delighted to find the cabin as advertised; clean, neat and with every convenience but, thankfully, with no Internet. Enjoyed the canoe and the many cultural offerings nearby. The owners put a great deal of thought into their home, and it shows. Reasonably priced in a funky, eclectic development. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottage

The cottage is very nice, and certainly offers the amenities that are described. The owner did a terrific job of providing information and instructions, so we felt well prepared for our trip. We didn't use the canoe or the water due to the weather. Becket isn't the most central location for sightseeing throughout the area, but the cottage is lovely and offers anything you would want. The owner selected quality appliances and it was a great place to use as 'home' away from home.

Perfect getaway

We made a last minute decision to get away for the holiday weekend. After reading the reviews we picked this cabin. We are happy we did, this is a perfect cabin to rest, relax, swim, bike etc. It was clean, very comfortable and tucked away from the main roads and noise. The kids biked and swam all weekend..

Its only 1hr from Springfield but might as well be another world. Met some of the locals and they were very friendly and enjoying the beach. We will be renting again.

This cabin in Becket, MA offers everything one would want for a relaxing get-away in the Berkshires. With a screened-in porch in front to a private deck in back, there is ample space to unwind. Walk, bike, swim, paddle a canoe, read or watch a DVD... just relax and enjoy.

Very Nice Place

We stayed here in early September and had a great time. The cabin is well equipped and stocked (we liked the 'take what you can use, leave something behind plan), the lake is an easy walk, and there is plenty to do in western Mass. , if that is desired. Everything was clean, neat, and well cared for. I would recommend going to see the old mining quarry in Becket township. Very interesting and nice easy hiking. A very good place to go to get away from it all and just 'be quiet'.
