Harwich - Harwichport Vacation Rental house

This is a wonderful vacation home!! Sarah has equipped it beautifully, and she was more than accommodating making us feel so welcome in her Vacation Home. We loved it! We have rented on Long Pond for many years, and have found this home to be a wonderful location on the lake, with it's lovely private beach and beautiful views of the lake. The home and yard are great with a nice dock and sandy, quiet beach; lovely home which is charming, nicely decorated, well stocked with everything you need, and an amazing outdoor shower too!! We love the convenience of the area, and would definitely return to this home. Sarah made us feel like family!!

My wife and I were looking for a vacation spot on the water within a 5 or 6 hr drive from our home in central NY. We wanted a place on the water but not really on the ocean because our children are still so little (3 y/old girl, 1y/old boy). We found the Steen's home on-line and it looked perfect. The pictures of the beach really sold us. When we arrived (SEP '09) we found the house in perfect condition. It was clean and very well equipped inside and out. We had not one issue during our entire stay. Sarah couldn't have been any nicer and she really went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable, even bringing extra toys from her home for our kids to play with.
About the beach. The beach at the house is great and the sunsets are amazing. There is a large sandy area for the kids to play in and the water was wave free and crystal clear with a sand bottom. The water gets deeper very gradually and it was perfect for our three year old to wade/swim in. No worries about getting knocked down or swept away. If you have little ones this is the perfect house/beach for them. Sarah even took my wife and daughter kayaking.
We made several day trips and Sarah had a ton of vacation guides, maps and restaurant menus in a binder at the house. Sarah was always available for questions or to point us in the right direction. There are shops, restaurants and a large grocery store within a 5min drive.
Before our vacation we had talked about going someplace different every year. But after our incredible experience this year, the fun we had and THE BEACH we plan on returning for a few more summers. It really was perfect for the little ones.

My husband and I were looking for a place to get away and relax for a few days this summer. We chose this property because of the location, pictures of the property, and reasonable price offered to us... we were not disappointed. We truly enjoyed our time at the cottage. This was a place that we could do some fishing, read a book, relax, do some sightseeing in the surrounding areas, and enjoy the fabulous views all around us. We really enjoyed having our morning coffee sitting out by the lake and listening to nature. The home was very spacious and clean. Sara and Ken thought of all the amenities one may need ! We really enjoyed cooking out with the supplied gas grille and loved watching the sunsets overlooking the lake. A wonderful and relaxing get-away!! We hope to return again one day soon!
