This 4 bedroom cottage easily accommodated 6 adults and 4 children. Lots of room to spread out-enclosed porch and deck in front. Back yard features sitting area and fire pit area-great for nightly bon fires.2 bathrooms are a bonus. This is our 4th summer booking and going back in 2015. Brian Taylor is great to work with and presents a comprehensive package of do's and don'ts. Close to all the action yet private.
As always, cottage was clean and comfortable. This four bedroom cottage easily accommodates our family of 10.
This has been our family get together four years in a row. Six adults and four children love the closeness to the beach and the activities on the strip. With 2 bathrooms, roomy enclosed porch and large deck there's room for everybody. Nightly bonfires are a cottage ritual enjoyed by all. Always a treat. Going back again for year 5 in 2015.
We booked this cottage for a women’s weekend and had a great time!
We were lucky and had a beautiful weekend where we could spend much of the time outdoors – in the shady backyard, sun tanning on the front porch, on the strip (which is 30 second walk away) and on the beach (5 minute walk). If it had been a rainy weekend there was lots of room to gather inside - around the dinning room table, in the living room or on the sun porch. There is new hardwood flooring in the main rooms of the house which made clean-up easy. It was also a nice bonus to have two washrooms available. The street is very quiet and the backyard feels private!
Our group of girls had a great long weekend at this cottage. It was clean when we arrived, everything was in working order, and we were comfortable in the space. Lots of seating indoors and with a backyard and front porch, you can always be in the sun! I was nervous at first about signing a contract and e-transferring money to the owner as we only spoke over the phone and have never met, however after speaking with a couple of references I felt more at ease. I received the damage deposit back in a timely manner and Brian was a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend this cottage to others and would stay again.
I was pleased with the size and cleanliness of the property upon arrival. The only exception is the carpet could use a real good steam clean or be replaced with darker carpet as current is white in colour and stained at traffic areas.
The front porch is large and allows for people watching as you can see the strip from it. The property is only 3 away from the strip. The walk to the beach is more like 5 or 6 blocks, but I enjoyed having it a further walk then 3 blocks. The bedrooms were a good size and the ensuite bath with soaker tub off master was fantastic! I used it daily. Air conditioner worked well, but only one, so sleep with the bedroom doors ajar. Kitchen was country cozy. Backyard is shaded, which was great and appreciated after heating up at the beach all day. It has 2 levels which was great that the firepit area was separate. Bring some DVDs for the evening, as there is a player. Be prepared for some noise but not much. If you this is your first time heading the "the bend" there is a ton to do on the strip: batting cages, mini-putting, jet-ski and water trampoline rentals, and tons of eating and shopping. We'll be back next year!!
The cottage is much larger than it looks in the photos. Enough room for our group to sleep and relax comfortably. Spent most of our time in the big backyard. Lower level outside for the fire pit and seating for 6, and upper level with even more seating, 1 patio table and 1 picnic table. Front porch was also great to relax. Lots of windows to air the place out and the A/C worked well.
Stove, oven, bbq, fridge and coffee machine all work. There is a toaster and microwave but we did not use it. Lots of dishes and cookware available, bring sponges and soap to wash them all quickly before use though. There were paper towels provided but I would suggest bringing some kitchen and bathroom towels.
5 minute walk to the beach was busy but clean, and the locals are very nice. About a 10 minute walk to the Sobeys and drug store. Beer store and LCBO are close by as well.
The strip was pretty quiet during the night and busy during the days. Loud party next door but we were up late anyway so we did not mind.
Only 2 parking spots available but we found overnight parking at the Spud Shack down the strip, $10 for 24hrs, or if you can get to the municipal office you can pay $10 for overnight parking in their lot.
All in all, a great stay and I would recommend this place.
