This is truly a magical Beach Cottage and the quintessential beach experience in Santa Cruz. It includes a full boat of amenities right down to the boogie boards, bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas. The Cottage with its expansive Open Ocean and Beach View,, sits above the shores of Moran Lagoon. Just a skip and a jump from main beaches, yet tucked away just enough for privacy. Wake up to the sounds of waves breaking. Have your first cup of coffee looking across a tree-lined lagoon to the Pacific Ocean. Walk down to the sandy beach on a paved and safe path for a swim. Then return home to warm up in the hot tub in your own private yard.
Nestled in eucalyptus trees next to Moran Lagoon, this home is truly one of a kind. The property has the feel of a private park, yet you're within easy walking distance to shops, movie theaters, Capitola Village, and even a mall. Stroll down the scenic East Cliff bike way. Watch surfers at world famous Pleasure Point. Our house is small and cozy. The yard is large and private. 850+ total square feet.
The extraordinary setting makes this home stand out from all the rest. The views are magical. We have kept our low rates for 6 Summers now, in light of of the current economy. This is a beloved private home and is used as a rental only in the summer months. The Cottage is well suited for both families and adults.
Truly a great place to stay. Location was great to get places and the home was great set up for dining, we really took advantage of the area and stayed local, from Aptos beaches to cruising west cliff bike path, the boardwalk and an evening sail, great produce and fresh fish every night and a Betty Burger on the way out of town. Look forward to visiting again
We had a great stay in this lovely cottage. We were two families, one (2 adults and one small child) stayed in the rebuilt garage and one (2 adults and 2 children) stayed in the main house. It worked fine! We had great and fast help when we needed help with the Wi-Fi or extra towels. The pictures were very accurate. The area is great and the ocean is only a short walk away. The front yard is very secluded and lovely with the hot tub. The listing lived up to all it set out to be!
A week at the beach just before school started with 3 grandkids, ages 15, 10, and 6. It was just perfect. This tiny house had it all, views, short walk to beach, bikes and beach equipment in garage, hot tub to warm up in after watching the sunset. The photoes were accurate. The house was easy to keep neat and clean. The kitchen had a killer view and great knives, pots and appliances. The outdoor area is very private from the very quiet street. One bedroom was a lovely room across the garden, without a bathroom but perfect for 2 nights for my grandkids parents. It would be great for teens.
I would give this house a 5 star rating if the bathroom was updated--shower was small and in need of replacement. My 15 year old granddaughter only took 2 showers, rather than the usual daily shower!
The location is perfect: lovely small beach with surfers, seals, otters, whale-sightings, and beach fires at night. Just a 2 mile walk or bike ride to Capitola. A couple of blocks from the famous Pleasure Point - surfers paradise. Food and mall shopping nearby.
We rode bikes most days. We took a whale watching trip from the nearby harbor on Stagnaros boat. Saw more whales than I ever expected, great captain and naturalist. A visit to the Seymore Marine center near UC was wonderful for the kids, touched a shark (very tiny shark). Lucky for me the parents took the kids to the famous boardwalk.
I cannot wait for next summer and returning to this sweet little place!
My family and I had a wonderful week using the cottage as our peaceful refuge. It is tranquil and orderly and has a lovely view. Thank you!
My family rented this cottage at the last minute last summer as other vacation plans fell through. The owners were very accommodating and this cottage was the perfect find. My husband and I our 7 mos. old daughter along with mother-in-law and brother-in-law joined us on the trip. There was plenty of space and my brother-in-law got to enjoy the separate accommodations away from the main cottage to give him privacy from our little one.
All in all, I would highly recommend this home, it was spacious, lots of light, private backyard, walking distance to a killer beach, and quick drive to all the happening Santa Cruz hotspots (including downtown Capitola). Lots of great window shopping in downtown Capitola and we enjoyed evening sunset walks down to the beach to watch the surfers on the point. :)
We had a wonderful vacation get away without having to travel very far. Perfect for us, my daughter and family, including grand children. Plenty of room for everyone. Everything is so close the weather was perfect. The house was very clean and organized. Morning coffee on the back deck overlooking the lagoon was a must. Love the bike rides made possible by the bikes provided with the house. Walked to beach every day followed by a soak in the hot tub. Watching the Wizard of Oz one evening (included in the video library) with the grand kids was also a highlight. Needless to say, we will certainly be back again.
World Class Surfing, and great beaches just steps from the Beach Cottage. The must see, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is just 2.9 miles away. Cruise the Pacific Garden Mall in downtown Santa Cruz with it's amazing shopping, and spectacular restaurants. You can bike or walk from the Beach Cottage to Capitola Village, on a beautifully paved path along the ocean. Great restaurants and coffee houses within walking distance. Kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing and fabulous restaurants at the nearby Santa Cruz Harbor. Visit our wonderful museums, including the Museum of Art and History, Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History, Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center. You also have the amazing Monterey Bay Aquarium just 45 minutes down the road. So much fun in the hood, and surrounding neighborhoods to keep you busy all week.
