Awake in the morning to the sounds of songbirds and enjoy breakfast outside on the garden patio. Home-cooked meals can be made in the spacious fully-stocked kitchen or at the BBQ in the back yard. this home offers everything you need so that you can spend your time relaxing and making the most of your stay on Cape Cod.

'My wife and I have rented many houses over the years and while we have usually had positive experiences we could always find a thing or two that the house was missing and/or needed. That is absolutely not the case with this house. It has everything you will need throughout your stay. From the kitchen basics they start you off with: oils/ seasonings/ and every utensil under the sun. To the beach towels, beach chairs and coolers they provide for your stay.

The house itself is beautiful; well decorated and very comfortable to live in. The backyard is very spacious and well maintained. You can tell that owners take pride in their home and are very happy to share it with you.' (2013)

'An absolutely brilliant retreat': 'This property is what you dream of as the perfect get-away! Strategically located in historic Barnstable, it is convenient to the beach and not far from shopping ... The house is perfect in every way, from the remarkable kitchen, to the charming bedrooms (in particular the 2nd floor rear bedroom with balcony onto the backyard), to the living room and airy dining room ... We would not have had SO MUCH FUN had we not had such a beautiful setting to spend our time together!' (2011)

'extremely spacious, clean, and welcoming': 'We were warmly greeted and made to feel at home immediately. The house is extremely spacious, clean, and welcoming as well as completely equipped with everything you might need - including sunscreen! There are so many places to relax (hammocks in the backyard, a lovely deck, huge back yard to sit and relax in) I would highly recommend this property for your vacation.' (2011)

'Beautiful Home - Awesome Location!': 'This beautiful Barnstable home was a perfect vacation choice for my friends and I. The outside had a great backyard for playing wiffleball, enjoying a cookout, or just relaxing in the hammocks. The inside was very clean, big, and cozy; and we loved how all the windows really brightened up the house. The location was perfect; the house was away from it all and provided a good amount of privacy, but at the same time Barnstable Village and Millway Beach were a short walk away, as well as local restaurants, grocery stores, the Cape Cod Mall, and other various beaches were only a five minute drive from the house...' Guestbook comments from the owner
“We had such an enjoyable week in your lovely home, celebrating this experience with our family. The house accorded us a tranquil respite from professional responsibilities and provided us with the opportunity to cook fantastic dinners in the glorious kitchen, play cards and games, read and just experience the joy of laughter and good times with loved ones. Your home is a veritable treasure trove of books and music which we explored with interest and appreciation. Thank you for opening your home to us and for making our Cape Cod visit a truly memorable one. Let us say that your business will always be successful, simply because of your caring ways and your attention to detail - elements that seem to be vanishing from our world. It is a pleasure to think that your lovely home embodies these attributes and stands as testimony to a more gentile way of life.”

Sincerely,

Marianne and John, Kalamazoo, Michigan

ABOVE AND BEYOND EXPECTATIONS!

  • 5 of 5
If property ownership is an art, then this property is a masterpiece! A rare gem where pristine is met with a comfortable home sweet home feel. An absolutely gorgeous property that exceeded every expectation and is somehow even better and feels larger than the beautiful pictures. The historical Barnstable location offers the charm of the quintessential Cape Cod experience while being close to everything a tourist would want or need. Our family of 7 (guests from ages 7 to 77) enjoyed each and every moment at this property and the whole experience from booking on-line to re-booking on-line as soon as we got back and every magical memory making moment in between. We can't wait to return!

QUINTESSENTIAL CAPE COD EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5
We had a sensational time on the Cape and your home was absolutely perfect. It has such a historic yet modern and comfortable feel about it. Absolutely everything you could think of is already there which makes packing a dream. The kitchen and supplies made meals a pleasure to prepare and the proximity to town so convenient. We found a Stop n Shop, Whole Foods and Trader Joes all nearby and the town grocery down the street handy for last minute items. We used the beach parking pass nearly every day and visited many beaches super handy on your list in the home notebook (with addresses no less!). The backyard is large enough for a rousing game of kickball, badminton or bocci ball, and yet peaceful enough to be lulled asleep on a hammock to the singing of the birds. Even the one day of rain from Hurricane Arthur on the 4th did not detract from our vacation one bit. We had sun, light breezes and almost 80 degrees the rest of the week. The owners are all you would hope for - friendly, responsive and full of tips and information. We all hope to return someday soon! Best Mary and Doug, Vienna, Virginia.

GORGEOUS HOUSE IN BARNSTABLE VILLAGE!!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in this beautiful and comfortable house with our 2 young girls and the grandparents too. All together, we were 6 people in the house, and never felt crowded. The pictures of the house are very accurate, the owners are very kind, helpful, and attentive to details. The beach is close by, we walked some of the times, and other times we did the short drive. The owners provide the beach pass which is a great plus! The village market is very well stocked, and there is also a cute coffee shop next to the market. Across the street there is also an ice cream shop which we went to frequently with the kids. All this within a short walk from the house. The house has a huge backyard which is amazing and very relaxing and private. We enjoyed many delicious BBQs there during our stay. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we hope to come back in the future!

SO GOOD, WE CAME BACK!

  • 5 of 5
We love this house and this has been a very happy return visit for us from the UK. We discovered it by chance last year and were so pleased that we could come back. The house is old-fashioned (in a good way) with lots of interesting features and up to date features. It is very clean, comfortable and well-equipped and felt more like our home than a vacation booking. We felt instant relaxation as we walked through the door again.

We really our enjoyed games of badminton and whiffle ball in the large beautiful garden. We can recommend the Audubon Wildlife Centre (a mile or so up the road). We went on a night-time beach trail in one of the Conservation areas to find horseshoe crabs and we found heaps, because of the full moon!!

The Heritage Gardens at Sandwich are always good to visit especially the fabulous collections of day lilies and vintage cars. There is great kids' play area there, called Hidden Hollow, and a magnificent working fairground carousel which you can stay on pretty much as long as you want. We had a couple of rainy days but we found plenty to do. Going to the movies and eating mall chow was brilliant. The beach pass to Millway Beach (one of our favourites) was a real bonus and we used it to visit Sandy Neck beach as well.

Barnstable village has a real buzz about it, with a great village store, weekly farmers and lots of other stuff to do. We have been visiting Barnstable for the past 6 years and it is really interesting to see how it is improving all the time. To be honest, we didn’t have enough time to do everything we wanted, such as the organised historical village walks and nature trails, which is why we are planning to come back to this house again next year.

Thanks again to our charming hosts, Dafydd and Wellesley, who work so hard to make everything so easy for their guests. We would definitely recommend this house.

THE HOUSE IS PERFECT.

It’s very close to many beaches which are all pretty quiet and enjoyable. There is also a market within walking distance (about 10-15 min walk) that has pretty much anything you would need including beer and wine.
The owners are extremely friendly and were readily available to answer any questions we had about the area/house throughout our stay. If you’ve been to Cape Cod before you know how lovely it is so by staying at a house as great as this it will only enhance your experience.

GREAT VACATION - SUMMER 2012

  • 5 of 5
We have had a wonderful stay in this house - thanks very much for making everything so easy for us. This is the eighth house we have rented on Cape Cod and it has provided us with one of our happiest experiences of renting in the US. The children especially loved a) the garden, b) the hammocks, c) the Mac and d) the TV (though possibly not in that order.)

We appreciated the fact that everything was clean and nice and the house is so well-equipped. There was such a lot of space, inside and out, and a nice feeling of light light throughout the house. The huge advantage of this property is that it really felt like a home, which made it great for unwinding.

The beach pass was a wonderful bonus - we used it most days at Millway, which we all love. Highlights of our trip were: Heritage Gardens at Sandwich, a trip to Jack’s Drums in Hyannis, Cooke’s Seafood, seeing “Brave” at the movies, a great barbeque here, loads of books to check out, games of badminton, and just chilling out.

Above all, we especially appreciated the care and kindness which Wellesley and Daffydd showed to us, before, during and since our visit. We had the great fortune to bump into them twice when were on the Cape and they were charm itself! We will return…

With best wishes - The Cooke Family, Kendal, England
