We rented the cabin the last week of June into July this summer. I took my family of 7 to Malcom's cabin near Flagstaff. We had an AWESOME time while there; plenty of bedrooms for everyone and a nice kitchen for cooking meals. The cabin is located west of Flagstaff off I-40 near the Parks exit right off a section of Old Route 66. We loved it, because the cabin is on 5 acres at the end of a dirt road, secluded and quiet (we saw elk every day on or right behind the property up on the hill; lots of open space). Flagstaff gets VERY busy in the summer, but this was far enough away that is was very peaceful, no traffic and relaxing. The cabin had everything we needed and even some items we did not expect, like multiple good flashlights with new batteries that we used to explore the Lava Cave about 10 miles from the cabin off a forest road (free and very neat; kids loved it). For the kids there is also the Deer Farm just down Route 66 to the west a few miles + Williams is only a 10-15 minute drive (were the Grand Canyon train departs). Right behind Williams up the road is a small family owned ski area that has a summer sledding run that is fun for the kids + their are quite a few lakes in the area. And, don't miss driving up to the Snowbowl ski area in the summer for the chairlift ride to the top of the San Francisco Peaks (highest mountains in Arizona). We also did lots of mountain bike riding and hiking near the cabin or plenty of forest trails nearby (try Kendrick Peak north of the cabin 15 miles). We would definitely recommend this cabin to other families.
