Welcome to the Boise Guest House!
We are featuring a boutique studio suite at the Boise Guest House, located in the heart of Boise's historic district in a completely updated 1895 home. We have three studios (six suites total) and each is comfortably appointed with everything you need while you are away from home. In fact, most of our suites have outdoor spacious seating areas to enjoy the summer months while taking in a cup of hot coffee. Please see our website for more details and images of each suite.
Our Animal Trophy Suite is uniquely appointed with the comfort of both long and short term guests in mind, down to the smallest detail. Keep in mind we have used cardboard animal heads, tipping our hat to our Idaho heritage. It features original hardwood floors, outside porch, microwave, range and fridge, dishes, linens and towels, all cooking utensils, flat screen TV, wireless internet and off-street parking. Air-conditioning in summer and a fan as well. This unit has a private entrance with a bistro table to enjoy your morning coffee.
We can arrange to have breakfast delivered from our local breakfast partners for an additional $10/ per person. There are also several wonderful breakfast locations in our neighborhood we can recommend. Delicious breakfast options includes a croissant sandwich with eggs, bacon and cheddar served with homemade applesauce and fresh squeezed orange juice. (Menu has changed 12/14)
We rent nightly (no minimum stay!) and also welcome long term guests, too both at the Boise Guest House and our off-site location just down the street. We have several units to meet the needs of just one person, or take over the entire house with a group for a retreat or a reunion! We have six units featuring 3 studios, 2 one bedroom and two bedrooms units.
We are pet-friendly and family-friendly. Dogs, of course, are subject to strict 'no barking' rules! We have pak n plays for kids, and high chairs and toys. The backyard makes a great play area for kids if your family rents our Travel Suite - a larger two bedroom suite.

The Boise Guest House is owned and operated by the Bergren family, who purchased the historic home in 2007. Eve-Marie Bergren is the Operations Manager and a property manager. After attaining an MFA and teaching visual art for a number of years, she transitioned into real estate. Her artistic background helped her transform the Boise Guest House from a sagging piece of history into a contemporary boutique accommodation. She loves Boise and is very active at her daughter's school and in the community at large.
Eve-Marie is available to her guests 24/7 and just lives down the street! The Bergren family hopes you enjoy your stay and come back again!

Downtown Boise is *incredible*! Its hard to think about living anywhere else. After a guest suggested I write a list of 100 things to do in Boise, I just couldn't believe the access we have to amazing events, things to do and of course, the lifestyle. The Boise Guest House was initially just an old apartment house, but the location and the charm just made it irresistible for its potential.
We now have bikes to rent for our visitor's enjoyment. Check out the farmer's market on Saturdays, North End Camel's Back Park or the Greenbelt.
You will enjoy walking in the foothills, visiting the local coffee shops, shops and restaurants in BoDo (Boise Downtown district) and of course, the Boise Co-op, a gourmet grocery store only 3 blocks away. We also have a thriving farmer's market on Idaho and 8th during the summer months. We are very close to three hospitals, the US Federal Building and the Legislative Offices (and renovating State Capital) so business travelers like to stay with us as well.
We love the fact our property suites have kitchens so that you may prepare a meal at your convenience. The grounds are also well-kept and the backyard is such an added bonus for a barbecue or a quiet reading spot.
I lived in Boise for eight years and always wanted an excuse to stay here. Since I've moved away, I now have that excuse. I booked the Story Suite for a weekend in December and was a little disappointed when the host asked the week before my visit whether I'd stay in the Animal Trophy Suite instead since another party wanted to book the Story Suite for a longer stay. However, I enjoyed the Animal Trophy Suite's whimsy and comfortable quarters -- a great retreat for one or two people. The bed was comfy, the kitchenette well furnished, and the location (close to downtown Boise and the North End) is hard to beat. I'm tidy and appreciate that this is one property that does NOT charge an extra cleaning fee, at least for a short stay. I also would have preferred better light-blocking shades ... even in winter, this was not an especially dark room for sleeping. But all quibbles aside, I enjoyed the Boise Guest House and I will be back.
Everything has been thought of to make your stay pleasant. They think of all of the details on things and a way to make it nicer than anywhere I've been. I don't want to give away some of the excellent things we found on arrival but they certainly thought out how to make someone feel great when staying at Boise Guest House.
There is free parking which was helpful. The rooms and design were terrific. It was all smiles and comfort. Even the back yard common area was thought out and a peaceful place to sit and have morning coffee.
You can walk to the downtown area, to parks, and to hiking.
We will definitely be back when visiting family and have already told family they must stay here. It's going to be hard for anyone to compete.
The Guest House is lovely. So cute! We stayed in the Attic Room, and it was just right for the two of us. The coffee provided was delicious! The house is in a great location- we were able to walk to a lot of restuarants downtown. We enjoyed Bardenay, Flatbread, and Cafe de Paris among others.
I will say that the kitchen was very small so I'm glad I hadn't planned on doing any major cooking. Also, if you are expecting a full service hotel thing, this is a different experience. It is very much a hands-off kind of thing. You check yourself in. No housekeeping coming in everyday. If you want something, you call to get it. We were fine with that. If you aren't...well, now you know.
Anyway, thanks for a great time Boise Guest House!
Loved our stay...10,000 times better than staying in a hotel!! Beautiful house, stylish decor, so many artistic and clever touches. Felt like being at a friend's home, only better. Amazing location just blocks from the Boise Co-op and the downtown hub. Easy (and free!) parking just steps from our door. Eve responded immediately to all our questions and needs. Have already been recommending it to friends. We definitely will come again!
We stayed three nights at the Boise Guest House and found it to be super clean, very nicely decorated, and a pleasant place to stay. Convenient parking and great location. Walked downtown for dinner and just to walk. Pretty area near Capitol building, park, Flying M coffee shop (yum). Eve-Marie was very responsive, both to phone and email. If our son picks Boise State, we will be back!
My stay at the boise guest house allowed me to see lodging in a whole new way. Breaking the mold of hotels being either overly sophisticated or far below par, the Guest house allows its visitors to enjoy the best of both worlds. The service is world class, with the streamlined 'self check-in' process visitors can forgo the eccentricities of hotel counter staff; the setting is extremely beautiful with it's antique appeal and prime location. The in-room kitchen and bath give you the luxury of reclusion and this will only last so long as you are in the middle of downtown with the capital right down the block. I was given a night at the guest house as a gift but will happily pay for another night in that setting, it truly is a reinvention of the possibilities in lodging.
