The moment you pass through the antique Chinese gate you are inspired by the Asian flair of the two villas adjoined by a deck and iron wood shingled roofs. On one side of the complex are a large dining area, open living space, and master bedroom. On the other side are two bedrooms, each with its own private adjoining bath. Walk graciously across the ironwood deck and meet your friends in the middle at the jade colored stone pool to enjoy the lush green view of the river winding down to the sea. The Pavilion at Manu Villa Rental Dominical comfortably sleeps 6. The Pavilions have been styled and formed with traditional Javanese architecture and construction using wood joints and no nails. It is a painstaking process, but yields a sensational result. From its turquoise green water to its fiery red and gold sunsets, the natural beauty of the area is second to none. The town sits on the Pacific ocean bordered to the north by the Río Barú, on the east by three thousand foot high mountains and to the south by dark, coffee brown, beaches and coves. One of the most striking features of Dominical can be found while swimming in the water, the town simply disappears. All you see are the tall beach palms and mangroves surrounded by verdant green hills reaching up into the mountains.

  • The Main Pavilion is designed with a King-size master bedroom and adjoining private bathroom with a hand carved sandstone sink set into an antique carved prayer table and outdoor waterfall shower. All the touches of tropical design from Teak tables to rattan lamps have been incorporated to exhibit the Asian roots of the woods and house. The living room quarter can comfortably host everyone residing in the court with a large communal area sofa, rattan chairs, flat screen television with surround sound, and expansive kitchen. Two sprawling King-size bedrooms make up the other side of the Pavilion. Each is masterfully detailed with carved wood countertops, private bathrooms, sandstone sinks and individually selected stone showers.

The Pavilion offers beautiful vistas, a serene setting and a great home base for birders and other ecotourists. Toucans and parrots greet you in the morning, and nearby sites including Hacienda Baru and a variety of beaches offer more opportunities to enjoy Costa Rica's natural beauty. Grace was a charming and helpful hostess, Jose our patient driver and willing guide, and all the staff friendly and professional.

3 Months of Heaven

Each year we rent a villa for three months during the winter season. It is always a concern, for this length of time, that the rental will not live up to expectations including the owner promising to provide high speed internet access. This has been the case in the past --- but not this time. Everything was better than promised. The villa was exceptional. Five star luxury with Jose and his staff taking care of our every need.

It was truly a jungle experience, private and secluded, high on top of a mountain, with a gorgeous pool, stunning views of the ocean and marvellous sunsets, but still very accessible to shopping and activities such as horseback riding.

Over the three months we got to know the owners Alex and Grace who are very caring towards all their guests. Treat yourself to one of the fabulous meals that Grace prepares. We got to see the other properties that they have available for rental which are of the same exceptional quality as the villa that we rented. We would highly recommend all of them.
