Old Lyme Vacation Rental cottage

Spent a week here with my 3 grandchildren and daughter. We had a great week. The cottage has been updated nicely and was very clean. It is well supplied and the furnishings were very comfortable. After a day at the beach, we would come back to a shaded, cool backyard - very enjoyable!
We did not find a gas grill on the property that had been listed on the website and we found it very difficult to park our 2 cars in the driveway.
All in all a wonderful week in a very nice cottage. Would reccommend it highly.

The beach house is in mint condition, fully equipped and a wonderful place to spent a week or two..... When we arrived the owner's father was there to greet us and fulfill the promised internet access, telephone line and gas grill........ Partial ocean view is an not accurate description because you can't actually SEE the ocean. But at night you are able to listen to the waves........
The only problem was the screened eat in porch. As long as it is warm and DRY it is a nice place to eat, by rain or cold it can get WET and very cold because all the bottom half of the windows are screened and have no glass part to close it.
After a call to the landlord and a discussion about it he never showed up (even he promised to do so) or solved the problem.
Hawks nest beach is a nice community and we loved to play tennis and being at the beach.
We loved our time there but would definitely rent a place at the water front next time. It is worth the extra money to get the REAL beach feeling.

Wonderful cottage for a family. Everything is brand new, you can walk to the jetty across the street, or down the street to the association beach. Owner is friendly and accommodating. Soundview beach is within walking distance if you want an ice cream or a beer. Go for it you won't regret it.
