Great winter home decorated for the holidays.
The house was fantastic - Just what I was looking for for a winter weekend get away! Bill and Lauren were very helpful and kind, especially since I had a bit of a scheduling snafu while organizing this trip. We got in late late night in the snow and Bill already had thoughtfully laid a fire in the fireplace for us, all ready to light. In the morning he came and shoveled off the walk for us! The house has a great view of the lake and was conveniently a short drive to the Lapland lake ski area that we spent the days at. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a laid back place to relax at the foot of the Adirondacks!
It was our first time visiting the area and we could not have been happier!
The location was perfect, the property was beautiful and the owners were extremely accommodating. We enjoyed our access to the lake and were given many helpful tips by the owners! They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed - We had a few minor issues - a noisy dishwasher and trouble with the T.V. - and they were so attentive to resolve this IMMEDIATELY! - We just wanted to bring it to their attention (it was not at all affecting our stay) and it was all hands on deck to get things fixed.
We would certainly recommend this property and also hope we can enjoy a future stay here.
Wonderfully spacious and well stocked home! Bill and Lauren are so friendly and helpful - Bill carried kayaks down the long staircase for us, lent our son a bike and was always open for a chat! The property is lovely and sitting on the wraparound porch while looking at the lake was so peaceful. We found places to jog and bike around Northville and drove to Lake George. All in all, Doc's Place is a great base for a great vacation experience!
It's always special when we have time at Doc's Place on the Lake. The location is perfect! It is only 35 minutes to Oak Mountain and great places to hike in Wells and Speculator. Plus your close to other towns like Gloversville, Johnstown and not to far from Lake George and Saratoga. The view is beautiful and there is plenty of wildlife even though it is near town. We sighted two beautiful bald headed eagles, they roosted on the big tree in the driveway and we got a few great photos of them. The kitchen is huge and we always make a holiday dinner, this year we forgot potatoes and Bill (the owner) was kind enough to help us out! The kids got their mashed potatoes after all. It was Christmas day and everything was closed. Thank you again, we always look forward to coming to your house on the lake!
I was very happy with my stay here.
The house was very spacious, clean, nicely furnished, and had everything we needed stocked. The use of the owner's kayaks and paddleboat was a huge plus.
The view of the lake from the house/patio was fantastic.
The owners went way beyond expectations in terms of hospitality/nice-ness/helpfulness. They went out of their way to ensure we had a fun weekend.
This is a great place. Situated almost 200 ft above the lake, with great views from both the deck and the living room/.kitchen. You can walk down to the lake to a small private dock and spend the whole day by the waters.
The house is very well built and maintained. The living room is very generously sized and faces two sides - with both having lake views. The deck is very well built as well. The lower level has 2 rooms and another large living room with ample space for all activities. It even has a bar. There is an indoor and outdoor fireplace
We had a wonderful weekend here. And it is walking distance to the small town and the market. It is right across the bridge and a fee feet from the road. Even though it is close to the bridge (and some times you will hear the sound of cars passing by), the house is built in such a way that you feel like away from every thing.
The people who maintain the place are very friendly and responsive. The pictures truly dont do justice to the house.
Highly recommend a stay at the docs place
