This renovated traditional cottage has been transformed into a paradise retreat with beautifully, landscaped grounds, featuring a heated pool(April-November) & lots of pool seating, a gazebo for relaxing in the shade surrounded by swaying palms, a children's play set, gas grill, and outdoor showers. With only 1 1/2 blocks to a beautiful white-sand beach and a short walk to restaurants and shops, this location offers true Island living. The large screened porch with ceiling fans, a separate 1/2 bath, bar sink, and undercounter refrig offers additional outdoor living space. The living area features a large flat screen TV(cable) . There are 3 bedrooms downstairs(2 share a hall bath, 1 has private bath with shower); all have queen beds. The upstairs features twin beds, private bath with shower, and sitting area with Cable TV/DVD---perfect for children or adults. The entire downstairs is tiled; the upstairs is carpeted. WiFi. Pet friendly. Linens included.

The island experience: Take a morning stroll on the beach and watch the sunrise, the porpoises play just beyond the breakers, and the seagulls and beach plovers as they forge just above the tide line. Then detour to any of several restaurants for a leisurely breakfast. Then a nice stroll back, a swim in the ocean, and a good book set the stage for a restful, pleasant day at the beach. Later there are things to see in nearby Mt. Pleasant and shopping just over the Connector at Town Center, historic tours in Charleston, fishing charters and eco-tours at the Isle of Palms Marina, kayak rentals, boat rentals, jet skis, and just about any entertainment on the water or in the city. Just ask and the locals will be happy to share their enthusiasm for this wonderful island so close to Historic Charleston.

On Island Time: Another great day could start with a walk on the beach to watch birds and porposises, and then a swim in the pool, breakfast in the gazebo or on the pool deck, and I always have to include the paper or a book. Later a kayak paddle with one of the local groups with a late afternoon walk across the Ravenel Bridge or a sunset on the beach. There is just too much to list. Charleston and Mt. Pleasant offer so many venues from wonderful plays, great music, lots of world class restaurants as well as lots of laid-back unpretentious eateries. Just start up a conversation with any local and ask their favorite place to go for entertainment or a meal. Be ready for the friendly conversation that will automatically follow. 'Old islanders' love to get to know you and want you to experience the best the area has to offer. Just give it a try and you'll soon feel like a native.

Pleasant, you'll find Patriots Point, with the Yorktown aircraft carrier which houses the National Medal of Honor Museum.
