Ideal for families seeking water adventure

This is a great area to enjoy clean shallow water swimming, water sports, and nice sunset views. The screened side porch was a great addition to have during our stay, but there are things renters should know. There were a lot of spider webs in the windows and the place had an old musty odor, which even a personally purchased full bottle of Febreeze and carpet freshener could not take away. It was clear that the blankets on the beds and screened porch daybed were not washed in between myself and the previous renter, as they did not smell fresh and were dingy in appearance. Also the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen were filthy. The outdoor shower was enjoyable but that too lacked cleaning as there were several old bars of soap and soap scum all over the place.
Renters should also know that the owner owns the home right next door and may or may not be staying there during the time of your stay with her dog, as it is their vacation home. This subsequently resulted in my children’s' shoes smelling of dog poop from playing in the wet grassy lawn, and me being barked at several times as I entered/exited the home. Also, there is a private road between the home and the property’s grassy lawn leading into the water (you can not see this in the picture). Children will have to watch for cars even though there is not a lot of traffic due to the road being a dead end street and used mostly by homeowners.
The owner is very nice and helpful in giving information and even gave us a tour of the lake in her boat. All of the people in the area were very nice and pleasant. There are two great restaurants in the area, The Iron Lantern and the Lakehouse Pub and Grille. There really is not that much to do in the area outside of lake swimming, fishing, and water sports. Greater Vermont attractions can be found 45 minutes to 1 and a half hours away.

Owner's Response: I am very sorry about the condition of the camp when you arrived. I have spoken with my cleaning person and we have made some changes based on your suggestions.
As for my dog, I am a very conscience pet owner and pick up "land mines" on a daily basis. There are several other dogs around in addition to mine.. She is very friendly and usually meets you with a shoe for a greeting.
There is a dirt road that serves about 4 camps past ours. Traffic is very light and owners drive very slow. I will continue to try and improve as suggestions are made.
