An idyllic week

VTRunner Rutland Town, VT
Review Submitted: August 26, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
My kids and I had the best time at the Cozy Nook. The house was clean, spacious, and well-equipped. Mary and her entire family were fun, kind, welcoming and really helped to make our stay enjoyable. This is a great spot for those with children of all ages. The water is shallow and the grassy area by the water is great for sitting and playing. We plan to come back again next year. This is the best spot on Bomoseen, as far as I am concerned!

Relax and enjoy!

Review Submitted: September 16, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We loved our vacation at the lake! You, your family and neighbors were so nice and we hope to see you next year as well. Lake Bomoseen was peaceful and relaxing! The sunsets were beautiful either down at the lake with wine and cheese or sitting in a rocking chair on the screened-in porch (naps were great there too). Our daughters enjoyed reading by the lake, swimming and fishing. We cooked on the grill and toasted marshmellows in the fire pit after dinner. On nights when we didn't want to cook, we had a delicious dinner at the Lakehouse (you can get there by boat or car) or at the Iron Lantern. We miss the Cozy Nook already and wish we had time for a quick trip back this fall...!!!!

The cozy nook was a warm and inviting place to stay we enjoyed the convenience of having everything that we needed in a clean and well maintaned cottage, the space accommodated a large family gathering. The grassy beach was a very enjoyable place to spend the day swimming and just enjoying the sun. The owners next door were pleasant and very helpful we felt right at home and would highly recommend this to all our friends. We hope to be spending time here again.

Ideal for families seeking water adventure

Enigma Newburgh, New York
Review Submitted: August 21, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
This is a great area to enjoy clean shallow water swimming, water sports, and nice sunset views. The screened side porch was a great addition to have during our stay, but there are things renters should know. There were a lot of spider webs in the windows and the place had an old musty odor, which even a personally purchased full bottle of Febreeze and carpet freshener could not take away. It was clear that the blankets on the beds and screened porch daybed were not washed in between myself and the previous renter, as they did not smell fresh and were dingy in appearance. Also the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen were filthy. The outdoor shower was enjoyable but that too lacked cleaning as there were several old bars of soap and soap scum all over the place.
Renters should also know that the owner owns the home right next door and may or may not be staying there during the time of your stay with her dog, as it is their vacation home. This subsequently resulted in my children’s' shoes smelling of dog poop from playing in the wet grassy lawn, and me being barked at several times as I entered/exited the home. Also, there is a private road between the home and the property’s grassy lawn leading into the water (you can not see this in the picture). Children will have to watch for cars even though there is not a lot of traffic due to the road being a dead end street and used mostly by homeowners.
The owner is very nice and helpful in giving information and even gave us a tour of the lake in her boat. All of the people in the area were very nice and pleasant. There are two great restaurants in the area, The Iron Lantern and the Lakehouse Pub and Grille. There really is not that much to do in the area outside of lake swimming, fishing, and water sports. Greater Vermont attractions can be found 45 minutes to 1 and a half hours away.

Owner's Response: I am very sorry about the condition of the camp when you arrived. I have spoken with my cleaning person and we have made some changes based on your suggestions.
As for my dog, I am a very conscience pet owner and pick up "land mines" on a daily basis. There are several other dogs around in addition to mine.. She is very friendly and usually meets you with a shoe for a greeting.
There is a dirt road that serves about 4 camps past ours. Traffic is very light and owners drive very slow. I will continue to try and improve as suggestions are made.

The Cozy Nook . . . beautiful and relaxing!

Hol Hudson, NH
Review Submitted: July 12, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
My family has been visiting Bomoseen for the last 20 years. The Cozy Nook has been our 4 th of July get-a-way for almost all of it. Time already reserved for next year! : )

The cottage itself has everything you need. It is bright and clean. The screened porch is a favorite spot. Spacious! After playing in the sun all day, it is a wonderful place to sit and have a nice meal and enjoy everyone's company.

The lake and lakeside frontage is great. The bottom is sandy. The water is clean. No crazy boat traffic, so you can spend hours out on the lake. The sun sets across the lake . . . every evening a beautiful new show.

The neighbors are wonderful and will only enhance your experience. We love the quality of our time there!

I highly recommend this rental!
