Desapointment

After being there 2 weeks out of 2 months, our decision to move was definit and this is the email I sent to the owner.
Hi Michael,
It took me a little while to write you because I had to let go my sorrow. The condo is according to what we saw on Internet, the things we are really desapointed in are the beach, the pool and the location of the condo, and please let me explain and keep in mind that it is not the first time we are renting condos.
The beach is dangerous, my husband got cut even if he had swiming shoes, it is full of corails, rocks, pieces of wood it is also dirty, lots of weeds, I understand we can't stop weeds to come but there should be someone cleaning it more than once over a blue moon. With our daughter and 2 grand daughters coming, the desapointment is even worst, we will have to warn them about the danger and they where so excited by the idea of jumping in upon arrival.
The pool is Ok, but not a chair to sit around.
The location of the condo, out in the bush, we are not the style to enjoy bars and disco's but a least a place with a certain community life. No groceries, no place to go, you need a car. Yes there are taxis, collectivos and let me tell you we use them a lot, but not even a walking distance restaurant, not even able to take a walk after dinner. We enjoy walking to do our day to day shopping, here forget it.
We went to Puerto Aventuras this week-end to friends and had the opportunity to visit condos. For the same price and some a little bit less than what we are paying you, we could get a bigger one, 10 minutes walking from a long, clean sandy beach, a huge pool with a lots of long chairs, palapas, a gym. A big balcony where you can enjoy meals, and a community life where you can walk at night after diner without fear. There is also some small little groceries and a huge one walking distance, restaurants, Internet cafe and more.
I am very sorry to have to come back to you with all those negative comments but for futur advertising and to avoid desapointment like ours, you should mention that there is nothing around here and no facilities at the pool. Also that you need swimming shoes at the beach.
Now after this being said, I am begging you to cancel our agrement and reimburse us at least one month it would make our life much better and happier.
Unfortunatly we didn't get a penny back and moved away on February 21st to Puerto Aventuras were our family could have a great time..
Owner's Response: My wife and I love to travel and have traveled quite a bit. We know what it is like to rent and be disappointed. That is why we do not do false advertising. I inform renters the chairs are in the unit to take down to the beach. When asked about the grocery stores, I inform renters the buses cost 55 cents and go downtown where the grocery stores are located. There is a nice restaurant right next door at the resort and one a little farther down from there. There are five restaurants at the public beach less than one mile away. The condo is on the beach directly across from Isla Mujeres or three miles by land (one mile by water) from the hotel zone. This is populated area, not in the bush. Condos located on the beach typically rent for more than condos 10 minutes from the beach. This is a private condo, not a resort. I have refunded renters 100% of their money with advance notice and will continue to do so with good notice. I freed up the calendar and offered to refund any monies I could collect for a last minute rental. No rentals came through.
