Big Bear Cabin (i.e. Mountain View Cabin #6) is located in the Bear Den community at mile marker 324.8 directly off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We are 6 miles North of Hwy 226 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Big Bear Cabin sits at an elevation of 3000+ feet above sea level which makes for some incredible views. Big Bear Cabin is located inside the Pisgah National Forest. If you don't feel like getting in the car to go find a hike, it is a very short walk from the cabin to several really neat marked hiking trails that lead directly into the Pisgah National Forest. Big Bear Cabin is in one of the very few communities located directly off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a very large front porch on Big Bear Cabin which directly overlooks Humpback Mountain. On clear days, there are also really amazing long range views that can be seen out of the dining room windows or while sitting on the left side of the front porch. To give you an idea of how large the front porch is, it is roughly 480 square feet in size. The hot tub is a large 4 person Hot Springs brand hot tub (i.e. the best hot tub brand in the world) and sits on the front porch overlooking Humpback Mountain. It is a one-of-a-kind experience relaxing in it at night with the outside porch lights turned off, looking up at the millions of stars in the sky. The master bedroom in Big Bear Cabin has its own bathroom and walk-in closet. The kitchen features an inviting island with bar stools and a log dining table that sits under a large antler chandelier.

This cabin is beautiful, spacious, secluded & comfortable. Watching the stars from the hot tub is the best part! Close to small towns, numerous hiking trails.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The house (it's unfair to call it a cabin) was the perfect place for our vacation in the mountains! We cooked ribeyes on the grill, relaxed in the hot tub under star-filled skies, were visited by deer, foxes and wild turkeys, and warmed up by the fireplace on the first night or two when it was chilly. The DVD player helped entertain our young child in the evening. The smell of freshly cut wood filled our senses every time we walked in the door. This was one of the best vacations I've ever had in my entire life, and a major reason was the entire package that this cabin offered. We could not have afforded to stay here without your offseason midweek special, so I hope you keep that up next year...we are anxious to return!

We stayed at Bear Den cabins on News Years Eve (I think it was Mountain View #6). It was our first time in this area. It was cold, but the warmth of this place embraces you. This place is wonderful. It felt like home every time we walked in from an outing. The owners have done a real great job of decorating and everything works great. The view is beautiful because the frontside facing the mountain ridge is all glass. I can imagine the Fall leaf color would be amazing. Even though it was very cold, we still took advantage of the hot tub. I'm glad we did. It was incredible because everywhere you looked you could see millions of stars. I found the loft to be a great retreat to read and relax. We also enjoyed hiking Linville Falls and visiting the little towns of Banner Elk and Spruce Pine. We plan to stay in this cabin again soon. Thanks to the owners for sharing this incredible place with the rest of the world.
