Surprisingly spacious waterfront cape style vacation home with 4 bedrooms, new second bathroom, two open living areas, private decks off both upstairs bedrooms, newly renovated this year, 2008-2009. (New pictures showing completed additions will be out in the spring.) Enjoy your breakfast on the back deck overlooking beautiful Casco Bay. In the evenings, delight in the breath-taking sunsets right out your door. 'Little Heron' is located on a quiet road on Flying Point. You will feel as though you are living in a nature preserve as you enjoy the ever-changing scene including gulls, herons and other sea birds, and yet you are only 5 miles away from a vibrant town and the famous L.L. Bean flagship store.

Without leaving Freeport, you can swim at a sandy beach, play golf, hike the picturesque coast at Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park, visit a bird sanctuary or a working farm, or you can discover the curious Desert of Maine. You can have a traditional lobster dinner at Harraseeket Landing and of course you can shop endlessly in the outlet stores and L.L. Bean just a few miles away from Flying Point. Venturing further north up the coast, you can visit the Maritime Museum in Bath, Farnsworth Museum and well-known Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Rain or shine, there is never a lack of activities nearby.

Notes: There is an attractive family room in the lower level, walk-out basement. Carpeting, paneling, TV, gas fireplace. The fourth bedroom is located off of the familyroom. There is also a kitchenette and small refrigerator, stovetop and sink. The laundry with washer and dryer is also located in the basement.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful week at Little Heron. Such a relaxing home to return to at the end of the day. We tried to be home in time to not miss the wonderful sunsets and then had the pleasure of deciding what vantage point to watch from! You have a few options with 2 decks upstairs as well as a fine back yard with chairs. We found this home to have everything we needed with modern bathrooms, well stocked kitchen, washer and dryer and tv's with great reception. We didn't utilize it at all as our kids are small but the basement family room area is amazing and older kids would just live down there playing games and watching tv. Another surprising big plus for me is how comfortable this house is. Usually, I need the socks and sweaters once the sun goes down while staying in Maine on the water. Not so here and the day temps were on the cool side for July in the mid 70's. But this is a four season home and it was always really cozy inside. Don't be like me and pack a lot of things that you just won't need. Save room for your outlet purchases!
