Villa Island Interlude: 220 degree panorama of the Atlantic Ocean and islands.

We recently spent 8 days at Island Interlude and we had an awesome time! The house is so roomy, comfortable and the views are nothing short of spectacular! Paul was so easy to work with and the villa is located in what I believe to be the perfect spot on the island! It's close to the most gorgeous beaches, best restaurants and doesn't feel crowded with other tourists. We, like others, spoiled the neighborhood dog:) Some of our suggestions....eat at Simply Italian! It's close by the house and wonderful!! Do your basic "just got here" shopping at Kmart (close to Red Hook). We probably could have saved $75 if we had shopped here before going to the marketplace. If you snorkel, venture over to St. John and snorkel Waterlemon Cay. It was the best experience we ever had! Octopus, barracuda, nurse shark, and hundreds of other fish and beautiful coral! What a blessing to have stayed at Island Interlude!

Paul and Fran, we had a marvelous week in your home that we quickly adopted as our own. We started the week calling it a villa, but within a few days referred to it as home. This is a very spacious home with incredible views from anywhere you may find yourself. The kitchen had many amenities and more than what were listed. We cooked most meals at the villa, using the grill or greatly setup kitchen. The beds were comfortable and provided many good nights of sleep. I woke up the first morning to see the sunrise, and found myself going to bed early so that I could be up to see it every morning for the rest of the week. The drive up the mountain was a little scary the first day, but it ended up being quite simple once we knew where we were going. You definitely need a car to stay here. The pool was amazing, was used every day but our first and last. It was clean and refreshing after spending our days sight seeing. The hot tub for two was the perfect ending to a fun-filled and busy day. We met the neighbor dog, who greeted us every morning and afternoon when we returned home. We called her Bacardi, and it helped with us missing our dogs back home. We had one small issue with the ice maker the last night. Paul was quick to get back to us and offer some suggestions to get it going. We didn't get it going that night, but Paul was great to deal with. He sent us texts a couple times during the week just to make sure we got in and everything was going well. We never got to meet the guy downstairs and never knew he was there to tell you the truth. A week is not enough time to enjoy this island or this home, and we can't wait to return. Paul and Fran, thank you very much. We have already recommended others stay at your home. We WILL be back.

The property was outstanding; the furnishings were good including kitchen facilities; the unit was clean, the view from the living room spectacular and unlike many tropical rentals no bugs or mosquitos, the wifi and TV worked well throughout our stay. We commonly took the car ferry from near-by Redhook to St. Johns and usually used the Cinnamon Bay beach which was spectacular; we preferred it to the beaches on St. Thomas. We like to swim "far out" and no lifeguards or restrictions applied as compared to St. Thomas - good for kids - where you are required to stay near shore. The owner was very helpful, particularly in pre-arranging grocery delivery to the unit so we didn't immediately have to shop. We cooked-in most nights and shopped at a supermarket in Redhook, good food but pricey - I suspect that's true throughout ST. On 2 occasions we went to dinner at the near-by Mahogany Run Grille, which we strongly recommend - the food was very good and the wine selection outstanding and the prices very reasonable! We also arranged a snorkel trip on a small boat runnig out of Redhook - it was excellent; the waters were clearer off St. John than in the Bahamas or Hawaii. The weather was perfect throughout our trip. I also strongtly recommend that anyone renting this unit have a Jeep or AWD or 4WD vehicle - the roads on both St T and St J and Atlantic Road running up to the villa are very steep and windy. Overall an excellent experience; I recommend it strongly and would happily return in the future !!
