Fishing off of the beach and jetties yields catches of Whiting, Pompano and Mackerel, while snorkeling in the same locations yields views of beautiful tropical fish and great shell collecting. The Emerald Coasts beaches are a place of sheer enjoyment and indulgence for people of all ages.

Golf & Fishing, too!: The Destin area is home to some of the finest YEAR ROUND golf courses on this planet. Along with offering degrees of challenge well-suited for players of every level of ability and talent, area courses boast breathtaking scenery and outstanding facilities. The hardest part about playing golf on the Emerald Coast is choosing which courses to play while your here. Fishing in Destin does not require the use of a boat. Many species of sport fish are caught in the Emerald Coast waters off of the beach, pier and jetty. This type of fishing in the Gulf is best between April, when the first Pompano arrive, through October. Fishing from these fixed locations with live bait, frozen bait, and artificial baits will produce Pompano, Whiting, Channel Bass, Sheepshead, Blue Runner, Bluefish, Sail Cat, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Cobia, Bonito, Jack Crevalle.
