Out of all our family reunion rentals this one is by far the best yet! It is cozy, spacious and very large family oriented! Tons of dishes, pots, pans and every size bowl you could imagine.

There are a combination of gathering spaces and places along side private spots when one needs to get away.

It normally rains during our family reunions and this one was no exception - the nice thing is there were lots of spaces to read, watch tv, play board games or put together a jigsaw puzzle with lots of room to spare.

When the sun was shining it was like a return to summer camp deciding what to do next - swim, canoe, kayak, paddle boat, hang out by the dock...

Regina - thank you for all you did to make the Steele Family Reunion so memorable!

This house was a great space for 3 families to share for a week. We had 3 couples with 7 children (ages 2-20) all together. Lawn is big enough for fun & games. Great deck for eating or just hanging out. Nice firepit for roasting marshmallows and s'mores. This house is special because it has spaces that are large enough for everyone to gather together for meals or games, yet also enough little sitting areas and rooms so that we could spread out and get away from each other. The kids loved the big sleeping loft. House was spotless and very well stocked with everything you would need.

Minor complaint was that the water wasn't really deep enough for the older kids to jump off the dock and swim around. There is a great area for little ones to walk in and splash around. Too many big rocks, though, for good swimming and jumping. However, you can canoe out to a raft and swim around there. House is also quite remote, but we found necessities at a country store < 10 minutes away. No closeby entertainment other than the marina/restaurant a few houses down.

We cleaned up as requested before we left, and received our full deposit back. We found homeowners to be agreeable, friendly, and helpful. In fact, we had a problem with the dishwasher leaking, but the owners were not upset at all and were apologetic that it wasn't working properly for us.

Our family enjoyed a fantastic week on Highland Lake last summer. With the exception of the online pictures, we arrived at the property sight unseen. We were more than pleasantly surprised. The accomodations were larger than we expected, the lake side setting was picturesque and the house and grounds were immaculate (something I am a little fussy about!) As we began unpacking the car I soon realized I had overpacked the household items I thought we would need for the week...as the kitchen was fully equiped! We kayaked, canoed, swam, went blueberry picking, rented a pontoon boat (as the marina was just a short walk away) and enjoyed the great weather. The owners met us as we arrived and made us feel right at home. Regina took the time to make sure we were comfortable, had everything we needed and pointed out places of interest in the area. Our teenage daughters and their friends had a great time from lounging on the dock...to sitting around the firepit at night. An overall great vacation, at a great house and plenty of great memories! Thanks Regina for a wonderful stay. We will be back for sure!
