Lake house on Apalachia Lake - spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath, fireplace, huge porch, 2 car garage, sleeps 8. Two minute walk to lake. 30 minute drive from Murphy NC. Nearest airports: Atlanta, GA. & Chattanooga, TN. Enjoy private access to a beautiful, peaceful lake. We welcome pets (dogs only) with prior approval. This secluded one acre property in a small gated community is a perfect getaway. Fully furnished, fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy hiking, fishing, biking, swimming, scenic byways, and white water rafting (Ocoee River). Apalachia lake (9 miles long) is designated as a Wilderness Waterway. There is never a fluctuation in the water level. Most of the lake's shoreline is preserved by USFS Nantahala National Forest. The lake is ideal for canoes and kayaks, but can easily accommodate a sport boat for water skiing. Quiet secluded coves provide excellent spots for relaxing and picnicking.

The House is on Lake Appalachia which is the third reservoir on the Hiwassee River and begins just below the dam. It is 9.8 miles long and has 31 miles of beautiful wilderness shoreline. It is designated a 'semi-wilderness' lake, 1277 feet above sea level. From the house, you can walk right to the lake and enjoy a private spot to picnic and swim. The house is on a private road in a small gated community. If you drive 5 minutes from the house, you can visit a beautiful mountain waterfall. Nearby whitewater rafting on the Nantahala and the Ocoee rivers Enjoy antiquing, John C. Campbell Folk School, Horseback riding or simply relaxing on the back deck. Bring your mountain bike, kayak and hiking boots, this area is fantastic for people who love outdoor adventure.
