3 bedrms, 1 bath, sleeps 6/7, oceanfront

The Dorothy Adelaide Cottage sits on private Moody/Ogunquit beach. The cottage has an ideal oceanfront location for endless activities on or away from the beach. Our spacious enclosed oceanfront porch allows one to view the ocean/beach morning, noon or night. Activities on the beach range from swimming, kayaking, surfing, walking, ball-playing, badminton, horseshoes, Bocce and more. There are gas grills, private picnic tables on your oceanfront lawn and lounge chairs for the beach. Ample on site parking is available for guests. The house is very well maintained with all new/updated appliances, comfortable quality mattresses, and attractive furnishings.

No smoking, no pets, no large parties: Guests are limited to 6/7 including children on season, and 6 guests off season (No exceptions)..no pets and no large parties. On season is from June 29th to August 31st. Off season begins April 1 through June 15th and commences on August 31st through December 1. Labor Day commences the second half of the off season rates. There is electric heat with a separate thermostat in every room so that the cottage is warm and cozy at all times. We also have a wonderful gas fireplace in the three bedroom livingroom. Additional amenities include up to date kitchen with modern appliances, central vac, outdoor shower, cable TV,

internet access, telephone etc.

Weeks run from Saturday 3 PM to Saturday 10 AM. The cottage is non-smoking, no pets and no large parties.

There are a number of wonderful golf courses in the area in Wells, Ogunquit, Kennebunk, Kennebunkpot, Sanford, etc.

At the beach there are many wonderful activities such as surfboarding, beach walking, swimming and kayaking. A short distance away from the beach there are an abundance of Antique shops and great restaurants high end to takeout and in between. The seafood offered is superb and there is an outstanding steakhouse restaurant. There are a number of outlet malls in the area, plus shopping at L.L. Bean in Freeport, and tax free shopping in Portsmouth, NH all within 30 minutes to 1 hour away. Deep sea fishing and whale watching out of Ogunquit and Kennebunkport, great golf, York Animal Farm, Scarborough Downs Harness Racing and Laudholm Farm are a few other great destinations.

Other Activities: There is a seasonal trolley which runs on schedule to other beaches and popular local destinations.

The Moody Beach Association runs sand sculpturing contests, fireworks on the 4th of July and various other activities if one should be interested in joining in.

The cottage has its own private telephone number for local calls, cable TV with an abundance of channels and a DVD/ You have the use of your own grille, outside picnic table and chairs, lounges and beach chairs. The private beach is a 1.3 mile sandy stretch adjacent to Ogunquit Beach. There is a deck on the street side of the house with a picnic table and chairs and lounge chairs. There is plenty of parking. There are surf boards, various sand toys, boccie ball set, horseshoes and beach chairs for guest use.

Our extended family stayed at this Moody Beach house in May, '08. It is everything stated. The house is beautiful, right on the beach, extremely well equipped kitchen, delightfully decorated and very comfortable for a family visit. The owners were gracious, helpful and charming. We are making plans to return!!

The house is beautiful...and you can't complain falling asleep to the oceans crashing. The house is very clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. The view of the private beach and ocean was amazing. We really have no complaints. The owners were also very nice and helpful. There is nothing like falling asleep or waking up with the sound of the waves. We found this house to be perfect for us. It is beautiful, very well equiped, cozy and most importantly, spotlessly clean. We loved the private beach it is on. It is close to restaurants, grocery store... There is also a gaz fireplace that works wonder for those chilly nights, unless you decide to make a fire on the beach! The owners are also very nice and helpfull. We have been back for a week and are already taking about going back!
