Relax in a very private setting in a large, comfortable home well-equipped for entertaining with expansive decks and a screened porch that overlook a 4-acre fishing pond. The sandy path next to the house leads around the pond up to the wide, beautiful beach. After your beach swim, you can kayak on the pond or fish, bird watch, feed the ever-hungry turtles, play tennis, or just stroll around this private community. Community streets are suitable for walking, jogging, biking, rollerblading, and skateboarding. Less than a mile away are shopping centers with grocery stores, gift and jewelry shops, wine and cheese shops, coffee and sandwich shops, restaurants, movie theatres, water sports (and lessons), go-carts, mini-golf, paddle boats. The Currituck Golf Club is within two miles. Local attractions include the Historic Whalehead Club & Heritage Park, Wild Life Center, the Currituck Light House, the restored Village of Corolla, Estaurine Walk and trails, and local wild protected horses!

Fully equipped, comfortable home: Bedrooms are spacious with new mattresses and comfortable bedding. All bedrooms have large closets and dressers with TVs and VHS and/or DVD players. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, serving dishes, utensils and serving equipment, grill utensils, baking pans, casserole dishes, place mats, and everything that you would need to help entertain your family. Wood-burning fireplace in Great Room and outside grill. Great Room is a large gathering place for family to eat and play games. Screened porch off of Great Room has table for outdoor dining and connects to wide, expansive upper-level deck. Full-size washer and dryer located on first level.

Relaxing on the banks

We stayed at this property, Apr 19th-26th 2008, we came for some rest and relaxation, which I must say we got. The house was very private even tho' it was on an property with many other houses, but at this time of year it is quieter, the balconies are very nice to relax on, read a book, have a quiet drink etc, the hot tub was well used, and probably more practical this time of year as it's still a little cool for pool's. The beach was beautiful, a good walkers beach, my only comment on this is that they should have some parking for handicapped people with beach access available on the property but this has nothing to do with the house it's self, the walk to the beach was quite easy, but a little far for someone with a disability. We had a couple of rainy days which was fine as it gave us time to read, watch a few movies (there is a good selection at the house for guests use) and generaly slow down after our drive, over all we loved our visit. We wished we had longer to stay but work calls!

It's unfortunate that there are not enough handicap accomodations for those who want to visit the beach. Even if you drive around the block to the handicap/emergency beach parking, the dunes are high and accessible by stairs.

Great family-friendly beach house!

We stayed in this family-friendly home and found it very comfortable, nicely furnished and decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and provided all we needed for our annual seafood feast at the beach. We purchased the seafood at the nearby market which was very convenient. The house is only a short walk to the oceanfront which was very nice. We enjoyed visiting the nearby pond and feeding the turtles. This home had lots of games, books and movies which were handy on a rainy day. We all enjoyed a relaxing dip in the hot tub. We hope to stay here again on our next visit to the Outer Banks!
