Welcome to the Humphrey’s Ledge Mountain Retreat. Situated on 1.7 secluded acres just 3 miles from the center of North Conway and minutes from Attitash, Storyland, Saco River swimming and Diana's Baths. Relax and feel the difference in this secluded, very new contemporary apartment with vaulted ceilings, skylights, radiant heated marble bathroom floor and kitchen floors. Enjoy spectacular mt. views from both inside and out. Watch rock climbers on Humphrey’s Ledge and sunsets over Mt Kearsarge and the Saco River from your private deck. Perfect for romantic 'getaway' or small family fun. Full contemporary kitchen with granite tile shelves. Kitchen stocked with modern cookware and essentials leading to open living room/dining room with cable TV, DVD, and WiFi. This apartment is 'no smoking' and 'no pets' but very 'child friendly'. Built 3 years ago for private use...tastefully appointed. $250 security deposit is required. Owners live nearby and enjoy answering questions about local activities.

PRIVATE DECK, PICNIC AREA AND FLOWER GARDENS: Entry to the apartment is through a side door into a foyer/mud room with coat hook and a boot rack. A wide carpeted stairs leads to the apartment. The foyer also has an entry way into the heated garage which is equipped with a work bench perfect for prepping skis. There is also a garden sink for cleaning muddy shoes. The garage also has ski racks, hooks and storage areas for backpacks and other outdoor gear. One garage bay for parking will be included for a small fee.

Apartment also includes: Two large closets with clothes racks and shelves. The hall closet is equipped with games, puzzles and children's toys. Large deck with mountain view has steps leading to a ground level picnic area with gas grill and picnic table . Two flower gardens add beauty to the apartment view.

Baby gates installed at the top of stairs both in the apartment and on the deck for extra safety (upon request).

COMPANION HOUSE-REUNITE FAMILY AND FRIENDS: COMPANION HOUSE (Listing #180901) A contemporary 3 bedroom house fully equipped with a full kitchen, washer and dryer and deck with mountain views is also available on the property. MULTI GENERATIONS & MULTI FAMILIES: Many New England families use Humphrey's Ledge as a meeting place for family/friends living in different parts of the country. Brothers/sisters, parents and grandparents enjoy the NH mountains together. Last year families came from California, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania as well as Maine, VT, RI and NH. EUROPEAN & CANADIAN FAMILIES: we delight in sharing our home with international guests. Last year European guests came from the UK, Scotland and Switzerland, Canadians from Montreal and Ottawa. Bring an extra suitcase for shopping NH's tax free outlets.

A discounted rate will apply when both the house and apartment are under the same agreement and rental period. The house sleeps 9 with a separate private deck and children's play area

CHILD CARE SERVICES AND OUTDOOR FUN FOR ALL AGES: The Humphrey's Ledge property is perfect for families with children. Special 'on site' child entertaining services may be possible with advance notice. The owner loves children and enjoys engaging children in games, arts and crafts, and nature walks.

ADVICE ABOUT LOCAL ACTIVITIES will gladly be provided by the Owner. I live in the area and know well the wonderful opportunities that the Mt Washington Valley can provide.

My husband Sam and I are recently retired and are enjoying 'the good life' in the NH mountains. We moved up North from Boston, Massachusetts after 25 years of traveling up to the NH mountains on weekends. We love to travel in the US and internationallly. We enjoy sharing our experiences with our renters and learning about their unique experiences. We specialize in families with young children and international guests.

The house adjacent to the garage/apartment complex and the 1.7 acres was our weekend vacation property for 25 years. When we moved into the property 5 years ago, we built the large garage and second floor apartment and deck. We personally worked with the contractor on every aspect of the exterior and interior features. We hoped one day to have a place out west, but keep the apartment as our New England 'get a way'. It is very special to us and that is reflected in the lighting and contemporary beauty of this apartment.

Notes: There is a large yard with picnic table. Play area for children with sandbox, slide and wading pool shared with companion house. Perfect setting for family activities. Also close to the Saco River with great swimming spots and tubing, canoeing and kayaking. The back of the property is National Forest. A short hike up the side of Humphrey's Ledge affords a birds eye view of the Valley. Endangered peregrine falcons nest on the Ledge and glide in the thermals over the apartment. Our wonderful Vacation!

This week we spent at Humphreys Ledge apt was such a peaceful, relaxing week. The description was completely accurate it had everything to make your stay comfortable and homey. We were able to cook in the kitchen with good utensils, spices, and little touches like
a tea maker, coffee maker, basically everything that you would have in your own kitchen. The property was very well maintained and immaculate. There is beautiful views surrounding you, it was great just to walk out on the deck everymorning and have coffee, and take it all in. And downtown north conway has the train rides, and lots of shops and some nice restaurants and also we even found an arcade fairly close for rainy days. But Birdy was very accomadating and made sure our son had videos and games to play if we were staying in. So all in all I would definetly recommend this to anyone. And look forward to coming back again for sure. Thanks Birdy & Sam for making our vacation so nice. James & Denise

Wonderful week in the White Mountains

This apartment is superb. On arrival it reminded us of a stylish Boutique hotel. Everything we needed was there, and all of the highest quality. The location is wonderful, surrounded by the woods, and with magnificent views. The surrounding mountain area is wonderfull for walking/hiking, or just more leisurly site seeing. North Conway has some excellent outlet shops, plus plenty of quirky local shops. Birdy and Sam were very hospitable and anxious to please.
In 40 years of renting holiday homes worldwide this is the best.

Heaven in New hampshire

Humphrey's Ledge is a fantastic apartment... we stayed there a week and never regretted a moment. The location is beautiful and the surrounding area is really spectacular. The apartment has one large bedroom with further sleeping in the lounge. The bathroom is huge and has a storage area off it. The kitchen is ideal and we used it every day along with the diner/lounge.
On our arrival we were greeted by a cheeky red squirrel that we saw regularly over our stay and chipmunks could always be seen playing outside.
North Conway is close by with all the shopping you could need. And there are places to visit throughout the area. A lot of them open after (or on) memorial day... but even that did not detract from our enjoyment of the apartment and the area.

Everything was great, the description was accurate, the house was so big,
The property was clean,well maintained we couldnt have asked for anything nicer.

My boyfriend and I first went to Humphrey's Ledge Apartment in June 2008. After a beautiful stay and a great time, we were set on staying at the apartment again before the end of the year. It's in a perfect location, about 3 to 5 miles from The center of North Conway, delicious restaurants close by, amazing scenery, and a comfortably perfect place to stay. We went back up in October 2008 sinceHumphrey's Ledge Apartment was one of our favorite places, and we'll always remember this as "our spot". That weekend my boyfriend asked the big question, and I said "YES!" We plan on staying sometime soon in 2009.
